Has anyone taken their turn signal switch apart?

I just took mine mostly apart, and decided that the turn signal button
would probably have to be pulled off of its shaft in order to get
the guts of the turn signal mechanism to come out...

Anyone?

Any reason why you want to take it apart?  I notice today that my right turn signal is intermittently working.  Might have to find a way to get mine apart to inspect and clean.  Hate to take it in for warranty.

My right turn signal was intermittently working the last time
I rode home from work. Phooey on having to hold the turn signal
on while turning onto the I-85 merge ramp...

Give it a try and see if you can figure out how to get the turn signal mechanism out.
I think the button is irreversibly mashed onto the little stalk that goes into the
mechanism, as if they pushed the button onto the stalk after they installed the turn signal
mechanism into the control box. I took the horn button out and the high-beam
button out, but couldn't see how to take the turn signal mechanism out. I put it
all back together, screwing up anything in the control box would be a drag, I've
had it all the way out before, taking all that headlight stuff apart to get to where
it hooks into the wiring harness is tedious.

The handle bar switches on our bikes are made horribly. But if you use a product such as WD40,CRC, Fluid Film and spray the switch I think you'll find your problems go away. I had problems with my signals and high beam switch but after lubing it all the problems are gone.
