I am about to start another "build." But this one will be simpler - designing a new grab rail, back rest, and luggage rack for the Valkyrie. I'll cover it in another thread so the two threads can be kept separate.
Okay. As for this thread - I have decided to do a "small" production run of my fairing if there is interest. I plan on selling them for $295 with mounting hardware (shipping is extra and will be just what UPS charges). I will be building each one myself using a vacuum bagging system. They will be made of biaxial fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin.
Here's the rub. You'll need to purchase the windshield of your choice, trim it, and install it. Any windshield designed for the F6B will fit after the bottom is trimmed. You would want to get a polycarbonate windshield - you can't safely trim an acrylic windshield.
Second; you'll need to purchase your own headlight, mounting hardware, and trim ring. J.W. Speaker Evo 2 headlights can be had on Amazon and elsewhere at a reasonable price. Mounting hardware and trim rings are pretty easy to find, too.
Third; you'll need to paint the fairing.
Let's kick this around. I won't be making any money at this price. I would just like to make this available to our community as a wind protection option that is really pretty swell.
Please let me know what you think.
Cheers!
Bill

I really, really like your fairing, but having to change out my current headlight and windshield is too much.

It is obvious that there is not enough interest to justify the expense (including time) of a small run of fairings. That settles the question.
Cheers!

Hey Bill, I ended up selling the C for a B. I felt like it made sense for me. I was also super happy with my Madstad setup. However, if I had kept the Valkyrie, I would've absolutely commissioned one of your fairings for the cold months. I think it looks GREAT on the bike. Classic, and the workmanship is top notch.

Thanks, Jason. I hope you enjoy your B - it's a neat scooter.
Later this fall the fairing will earn its keep. We are riding to the Grand Canyon via Roswell, NM, the Trinity Site, Datil, NM, Alpine, AZ, and the Petrified Forest/Painted Desert. We will ride as many Rocky Mountain back roads as we can find. And at times it will be cool-to-cold.
When we did our shortened New Mexico tour last fall I was really disappointed in our Valkyrie because of the lack of wind protection. That's what prompted me to build my fairing. This year I think we have it scotched.
Cheers!

Thanks Bill! I'm sure you will enjoy your upcoming ride much more now that you have some beautiful quality wind protection.
If you're ever over San Antonio way, I'll buy you a beer or coffee or tea and we can swap Honda and West Texas stories. That's where I'm from, too. Happy riding, sir!

Bill, that is a hell of a nice faring you built, the 1800 Valkyrie is growing on me, I have yet to see one being riden, I have only seen one in person, I did sit on it, the one thing I would have to change if I got one is the bars, the stock bars has me leaning forward a little too much, it sure is different looking and your faring makes it look even better. Just want to say great job and very good documentation on your build really enjoyed the step by step that you showed.
Steve
PS if I get a 14/15 Valkyrie I would love to have a faring like you built on it.
