Ok guys, after reading everything I could find on locating the Aux power in the right cover, I went to get started installing my PC-8 today.  And as usual, I ran into everything except what I expected to find. I've read several posts telling me what colors to look for and I can't find any of them.

Here's what I've got

Image One, shows what appears to be two din type plugs and the Aux in 3.5mm for the iPod or whatever

Image t]Two, show two bullet connectors inside a black plastic type sleeve, It's impossible to tell what color the wires are.

Image Three,  shows the likely candidates. One red wire and one black wire with two small green spots on it. Bullet connectors one male, one female.

Image 4, There's a molex looking connector with a Red wire with a yellow stripe, a lt green wire with a black stripe, and a green wire

Image 5, there is a black connector which is obviously not the aux power

Don't have a meter so I'd appreciate it if someone else with an interstate could point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

I don't Know which ones are correct, but no one else has answered yet. I thought it was these 2 in your above picture.

I would take  a meter to it to verify.

And of course it should be controlled by the key

Gordon is correct. One is + and the other is - . Remember the wires and fuse are rated for 5 amps.

iirc  3 round black plugs with covers. small one is aux input jack for radio other 2 larger ones are for cb and possibly cd changer

2 female connectors in sleeve should be 12v aux connection

red and black wires w/ male & female connectors are 5v signal for cb

snot colored 3 pin connector I have no recollection of

4 pin square black is where you hook up the rear speakers when you put them in and run the wiring

disclaimer its almost midnight and I haven't had an interstate in over a year.
ps buy a meter if you're doing anything electrical. once you let the smoke out its hard to put it back

Thanks Mark

You have an excellent memory.  I did go out an buy a meter and sure enough you were right on the money.

The two green ones inside that sleeve give me a good reading and the red and black read '5'. Still can't see the wire colors but they are definitely the auxiliary power.

Interesting looking at the black plug that is for the rear speaker connections. It didn't dawn on me what it was but I do remember that I had Electronic Connections make me the harness for the rear speakers. They were an option on the '99 and the PO did not purchase them. I have bought 4 Polk 501 speakers and I'll be adding the rear speakers to my bike.

Now I'm also told that I can find the wire for the brake lights inside the right cover as well. I don't see anything like that yet but I'll try to trace it backwards from the trunk to the right cover or where ever else it goes.

I want to put a BackOff modulator in line

By the way, anybody know of a Valkyrie wizard living in south eastern Georgia (Augusta area) ?

I sure could use someone who really knows these bikes  as I try to do all of the mods I have planned. Wiring isn't my thing and I have a PC-8 fuse panel, Clarion 1410 amp, air horn, back off and rear lightbar that I need to install.

I can muddle thru it all but being a new Valk owner I would welcome the opportunity to work with someone who has more knowledge than myself.

I got plenty of cold beer !

The 3 pin connector is for the IS trunk lights. So you can find the brake there.
