Recently pulled tank.  The vent tube towards the rear of the tank has a hose connected that traveled out the bottom of the valk with the other "breather" type tubes.  However, there was an inline T and that middle connector wasn't connected to any tube but it looks like it calls for it?  Any ideas of what hose this is supposed to connect too?  I don't see one laying anywhere to be attached?  Thanks......

It's not hooked to anything, on purpose.  It's a breather deal.  You're good.

The tee is #2 below.  The picture doesn't show it, but the upper of the two #28's connects to the nipple on the underside of the back end of the fuel tank.

Sounds like you kinked the vent line when you installed the gas tank.

It's purpose is to prevent water from being sucked up the hose, while riding in the rain, shutting down the venting of the tank, thus causing gas starvation.

The reason I know this is because back in 2000 -2001, I removed mine thinking it was a mistake.  I made the mistake and found out it's purpose the next time I got caught in a rain storm. uglystupid2

As always the VRCC group comes through.  Can't thank you enough.  I'll quit looking for a line that doesn't exist and leave as is!

I'm into the fat lady a bit with the tank off, air box off, replacing vacuum lines etc. and I'm more impressed with her design the further I get.  What a marvel to conceive...

On another note, if anyone has spare intake manifold bolts(chrome), I/m missing 6.....They simply weren't there when I purchased her and I never noticed before.....Another potential vacuum issue source:)  Thanks again guys.

Kinda pricey, but this is what you want to use.

If your missing 6 bolts, 3 on either side, the P/O might have had the chrome spark plug covers and removed them. You have to replace 3 chrome bolts on either side with their bolts to install them.
