I haven't needed to remove or reposition, but the tail light comes as a complete unit and is held in by 2 screws and 2 lower grommets. Being factory LED they are assembled as a unit. You need to take the rear fender off first to have access to the screws. So seat, grab rails, rear fender and you should be able to take it off. If you need help go to the parts factory parts diagrams and take a look see. The light is 168.00 and is not available, so be careful with it.
