The Progressive shocks on my 98 Standard are shot.  I don't see any shocks in the classifieds so I'm thinking about my options.  I really liked the factory shocks on my (sold) 2010 Road King and I want to find out if they can be made to work on the Valk.  The stock Harley shocks are 13" and can be adjusted with air pressure.  They are often available as take-offs from guys who want to lower their bikes.

Anybody done this?  Is there some well known reason why they won't fit?

If the metal eyelets are the same diameter and width as the OEM Honda parts (or a substitute can be fashioned) then the other things to be concerned about are base spring rate and shock body diameter. Should they clear and not bottom out on the lowest air setting, you're probably good to go.

My friend ('02 R-K Classic owner) went the opposite direction a few years ago. We installed regular Progressive coil types when we rebuilt his Roadie's suspension at 50K and he was happy with the switch.
