B12 and most carb cleaners are acetone.
Seafoam is mainly naphtha.
I'm leaning toward acetone to help with my clogged slow jets.
I installed a front tire yesterday, replaced my exhaust gaskets and went for a ride.
The bike runs great above 1500 rpm,I just have a stumble off idle leaving lights.
What have you guys had good luck with?

Replacing the slow jets! OR....get a fireplace brick and cut a small channel in it to lay the jets in. Then cook them with a torch, works kinda like the self-cleaning oven. That method happens to be what was used a few decades back when all these fancy formulae(original Latin derivative) weren't available. In the end, experience has proven to me you'll spend nearly as much time and money trying to clean them out chemically as you would had you just replaced them in the first place. Personal preference for the chemical route....B12, full bottle w/half a tank of real gas(don't waste your $$ on hi-test) if you can find it. Probably will have to use it more than once. Good luck.  cooldude

Have used Barry Grant Cleaner on a Mercury outboard.
Cleaned up the carbs it could get into, the lower carb jets were blocked and not using fuel so did not get into that one.
Still had to pull the carbs, top and middle carb were spotless, cleaner worked well.

Berrymans B-12 if you are talking "on bike"?  Run it where the problem is to see if it clears up. Might take a time or 3 to see if it does work. Fresh gas, 3/4 of a can at least of B12 and run it. Repeat. Don't be stingy with the Berrymans.

clogged jets B12.   after that any cleaner which has the latest PEA technology. gumout Regaine is one such product.  once running perfect always use the new Stabil which has a evaporation technology which emits fumes to coat the tank and carb internals not submerged in fuel.

After a few tanks of premium fuel mixed with pure acetone the bike is running much better.Starts right up and most of the hesitation is gone.I had to originally crank the idle speed up quite high to get the bike to idle cold. After the fuel treatment The idle increased a couple hundred rpm,and I lowered it back down.Bike now starts right up and idles smoothly at 800-900 rpm.
I'm guessing there is some carbon buildup as there is still some weird engine vibration I don't experience with my main ride, hoping a few more high speed runs will burn out some of the deposits. One bad thing about low mileage vehicles, lack of drive time ads it's own disadvantages to the equation.

If you suspect carbon in the heads/valves. This is Seafoam's claim to fame. Supposed to break up carbon very well.

Be very very careful with straight acetone I used to use it to glue model cars together. It absolutely dissolves plastic and the floats are 100% plastic.

I have a similar/exact same issue.  I am running the STP Seafoam knockoff through it.  It's getting better but, it's always been a cold natured beehatch.  Once warmed up it's not a real issue.  I do think it helps to run a few tanks through it mixed with Seafoam (ish).  As it sits with the gas Seafoam mix in the carbs it seems to break up any crud that may be in there.  Then, once it's fully warmed up I get out on the highway and twist the throttle to the stop and let the RPMs hit red line in a couple of gears to run as much gas through the carbs in as short a period of time as possible, in theory to help flush out any loose crud.  So, on a Valkyrie I run out of speed limit in a dang hurry.

New Valkyrie rider, LOVE MY 97 Standard. I have a similar issue at higher revs. The bike starts and idles fine. Runs well in low (up to 3500) RPM through all gears; however roll on full throttle for passing and it sputters and pops. Have already synced the carbs and now trying Techron. Any/all input for a novice on this beautiful Black Beast will be welcomed.

That is not the usual symptoms of clogged jets. Might check your petcock diaphragm that it's in good shape. Make sure no kinks in the fuel line.

I agree sounds like early petcock failure.  If it is it will get worse and soon it will "run out of gas" every five minutes.

I also agree with the pingel.

Or a fuel filter added to the line.

I always have to chuckle when I see that re. an inline fuel filter. I've had a Pingel, an inline filter, and a Dan Marc installed for at least 10 years with nary a problem. No leaks, no starvation, runs fine, can hit triple digits with ease....which I don't do much anymore.  Wink I added the inline filter because I extended the pickup tube on the Pingel to match the OEM petcock, that way I have about the same reserve available. Only problem with that, neither in tank filters will work so....in goes the inline filter.
