Exhaust tubes and vacuum lines
«

I am putting things back together after a 6 carb rebuild. I thought the #5 intake tube had the vacuum line to the petcock, but posts here indicate it is #6. I saw a video where it was on the riders left. Is this correct? Also, I see that 2 of the bolts for the intakes have brackets or flanges on them, but I can't find a diagram where I can see which tubes these go to. I am stalled until I can get an answer. In fact, I have been researching that darn vacuum line thing for days. Nobody shows where it goes but I found a post here. Never thought of the petcock.

Petcock vac line goes on # 6 which is the rear left side carb. I'll have to look at one of my bikes to see about the brackets. I always number parts when dismantling so they go back in original location.i

Went down to the garage and checked. The two bolts with the brackets go on the right rear cylinder and the left front cylinder. They rest on top of the chrome air tubes so they can't pop out. The brackets might not be exactly the same so make sure they go in the proper/logical position. Good luck and ride safe, Tom in Massachusetts. 2 twenty one year old valks and never been to a shop. Even do my own tires.

I would look over the desmog info in Shoptalk, they show how to remove, so to do that they need to show where they are.
As for the petcock vacuum line, it is attached to #6, but in the end, it can be attached to any of them. As long as no ports are left open to atmosphere.
