I've used Shinkos for a long time on 3 different bikes so keep your negative comments.
Now to the point.
First time with Dyna Beads and I've got the usual mileage out of the tire. 8,500 miles.
HOWEVER it did feel like it was running very smoothly at 42psi and no weights on the rim.
No wobbles at any speed with hands off. Downhill, uphill, flat.
The tire has also worn very evenly. I could get another 500+ miles. I'm just nearly at the wear bars but with the FCR coming up I want to make sure the new tire is on.
I've put the new Shinko on this week and use some more Dyna Beads.

Not sure of the question here... Are you just stating that you've had good results with Shinkos and DynaBeads?

Try the Shinko 230 Tourmaster the next time.
I've ran both and I like the Tourmaster much better.
It rides smoother, lasts longer and is almost half the price of the Journey.

I am running a Shinko Superior front tire. My first Shinko. Dynamic balancing with traditional wheel weights. It runs quieter, smoother, handles better than the Dunlop E3 that was previously on front. 3220 miles on the Shinko. Very satisfied with it.

I'll stick with the Journey. It's a 5ply compared to the 4 ply of the Tourmaster.

I am on my second Shinko SE 890 Journey front tire .I use Dynabeads. The first one lasted 18,000 miles. I always kept it at 40lbs. One day I come out , check the bike and notice a bubble on the tread. Ordered a new Shinko front that day. The rear tire gave me problems from the start. Once again a 890 Journey. The bike had a vibration that developed around 2500 rpms. Tire was put on by the dealer. I brought it back to them twice. The mechanic said that the tire was the problem. He said "You get what you pay for". I eventually bought a Bridgestone Exedra Max. Problem solved. To this day I run a Shinko front m and a Bridgestone rear. With Dynabeads. All good.

I had to get some new tires for my bike last week. I asked my tire guy what he thought about Shinko tires he said, I wouldn't put them on my bike. For the difference in price, I will stick with Avon. My bike is worth keeping off the ground from buying cheap tires.

avon cobra rear will normally if everything same not last any longer than a rear shinko se890 journey if both good tires from mfgs. Yes, I will admit there might be (said might be) a minimal more slight chance to get a bad shinko over a dunlop/metzeler/avon, but for 30-60+ bucks more per rear tire, I am willing to stick with Shinko until they prove me wrong with wasted money.
I too got the shinko 230 tourmaster front tire being bias ply over the much more expensive shinko se890 journey radial front tire figuring for the 30 dollar or so difference can use that money towards mounting/balancing. who is to say the 5-ply se890 journey is any thicker than a 4-ply 230 tourmaster and see no issues mixing bias with radial tires.
On my other cycle being a 1997 honda magna, the tire that was on it was a dunlop k555 rear tire and NEVER doing that again rear tire supposedly only had tops 3000 miles from previous owner and we put on 4000 miles tops so 7K on any rear tire is not great. Went with a shinko sr777 so only time will tell but am confident any shinko will last as long as any dunlop/metzeler/avon front or rear tire and saving 30-60+ bucks on up is money in my pocket.
Only rear cycle tire, besides car tires, that I have heard lasting much longer than the rest is michelin commander II tires and those are near double the price of the shinko tires and will last longer, but at double the price, I doubt they will last double the mileage.
Now if on the 1997 magna the shinko SR777 only lasts 7K miles (doubt it more like 9-10K miles), but if only 7K, then going to cough up the dough and see if can get 15K out of the michelin commander II.

I've had shinko 777s on my magna for three years, second set, and love them! they make the dunnys feel like rocks and they stick like glue. I can push the magna right to the pegs with full confidence. I might try the MCIIs on the valk if the mileage reports are correct. a lot more b.s. swapping tires on the state than maggy
