They want $2.60 each for those things. Is there a cheaper quality substitute?

you could just fill the hole with black RTV and wipe it flush........they may not be reusable but it would definetly be cheap

Hate to say it.....   go to your local HD (that's right Harley Davidson) dealer and have them find some real chrome caps.  I don't have them on my VC's, but got a bunch of them elsewhere on the Valk and the VTX.....   very reasonable.  You might have to open up the spring tangs on the buttons.

I was going to suggest the same thing that PAVALKER said. I get mine at the local Harley Dealer. If I remember right they are less than a buck a piece.

got mine at yamaha dealer. got them on ALL my bikes...covering just about ALL the allen holes......
