As many of you know, our brother from Norway, Dag, gave the Texas VRCC a hand-made set of carb-syncing gauges.  The Houston folks used them last month and brought them north for us to use.  The gauges need to be back in Houston by the 14th for a second round, so mark your calendars for 10:00am next Sunday 1 November.

Charles "FlyBoy" Schandelmeier has offered to lead the technical aspects and JC "FORRECCO" Allen has offered to host the party and cook us all burgers.   cooldude

The address is 2633 Camille Drive, Castle Hills / Lewisville, TX  75056.  Come up the alley on the east side of the house, turn left at the "T", and it's the first driveway on the left.

JC has a lift and I'll bring mine.

Let's get a bike count and a mouth count so FlyBoy & FORRECCO know what to expect.

Don't forget that "Spring forward, Fall back" happens next Saturday night/Sunday morning!

Just a heads up, from experience, make sure all of the hoses are well seated into the bottom of the gauges. We were unable to sync Wizard's bike at our last wrench party, lots of popping through the exhaust. When my bike started doing it once the gauges were attached, I started checking all around. Pushed in one of the hoses and it seated in a bit. Reseated all and the popping went away. We were able to get Wizard's bike synced after that. Just in time for his accident shortly thereafter...  Cry

This is either from all of the fondling that occurred when the set was first received, or just all the traveling.

Hey Lemondrop,

Just a thought, and there would be lots of moving parts, but, if your IS were somehow to be in line for carb syncing you would still have another bike to ride in the Teddy Bear Run.  I can't shuttle bikes yet, but I could shuttle you.  Call it Walkyrie rental.

I sure wish I could make the trip from Lubbock. I've never been to a "Wrench Party". Hell, the largest group of Valk's I've riden with consisted of one other Valk. I actually have next weekend off, (which never happen's), but I've got family duties that I have to deal with.

Hopefully, I can make the trip in the future.

That would be great, Bugs.  Come on down.  We'd love to have you.  We've been scheduling wrench parties on the first weekends of the month and alternating between Saturdays and Sundays.  November is a "Sunday" month.  Maybe you can plan weekend around one soon.

BTW, Christine looks great!  Hard to believe she has almost 110,000 miles on her!

Thanks for the invite. That sound's like a lot of fun.
Christine has really held up real nice. People act very surprised when they hear she's almost 13 years old.

Yeah, I know, but we're just trying to keep our priorities straight.   coolsmiley   If JC doesn't have a TV in the garage, I figure we can record it to watch later, or listen to Brad & Babe on the radio.  Can't Tivo a wrench party!

kim and i will be there. however, i dont think that much will be done to hers. however, i will have plenty to do on the green bike. i will have some accessories to install, oil change, etc.

not sure if the green bike needs the carbs sync'd yet, but that sea foam worked wonders in the gas tank.

does anyone have something that can be used to suck out the fluid from the hydraulic brake/clutch reservoirs?

Six Guns mentioned the Arlington Cowgirls game .... all is good. I have two TV to watch the game on. One in the garage and one on the patio. Even if'n you ain't there to wrench on the Valk, you can catch the game and contibute to your waistline.

Also, 'Rubber Side Up' Garb mentioned the drive around to the rear. Do so carfully. The alley may still be a little wet with water still draining from the properties. I can throw some kitty litter down ('course it'll be used kitty litter) for those a little trepedatious to riding on wet pavement.

And to Wanderer .... I'm convinced that damn movie you want so desperatly not to miss will encore somewhere, sometime very soon ... and besides, I need you to rebuild my cursed starter switch housing!!! so what gives dude ... we gotta find you a date or what ????

I might also suggest that those who have various Valkyrie accessories and/or parts laying around, you may want to bring them along for swap or sale. I have a few odd parts some might be interested in. Just a thought.

Are we two months away from having the synch tool again?

Not necessarily.
Our December wrench party will be Saturday the 6th, location TBD.  I'm sure we can find a way to have the gauges ferried north by then.   angel

If that doesn't work, the January wrench party will be Sunday the 3rd (if we're sufficiently recovered from Friday night  Wink ).

Cool!  We'll have two sets of gauges to work with.   cooldude

So, what's that, 17 mouths, not counting Lourdes, Janet, and Wanderer (they're maybes) & 14 bikes, 4 of which will probably not get synced?  Should be fun and informative!

Hope somebody there knows how to install a neutral switch 'lens' in the headlight housing.  I've got a replacement but can't for the life of me figure out how to put it in without possibly damaging the wiring harness  ???.  I'm sure there is probably a simple technique that I am unaware of.

Yeah, yeah.  There's a lot of stuff I'm unaware of.  This just happens to be the one I need quidance on at this time.

Just got back from the wrench party.  JC and Lourdes were great hosts and the burgers and dogs were great.  I didn't do any wrenching but did enjoy watching and learning as others worked on their Valks.  Motorose in particular was getting a lot of hydraulic fluid changes on her green valk with much help from BAD, who was totally ambulatory without his Walkyrie.  Never would have guessed how to bleed the clutch hydraulics until I saw this.  And got to watch the Cowgirls beat the Seahags on the garage TV.

Thanks to all who put this together.  Well attended and a lot of fun.
