Whilst stripping my new acquisition for a re-build / chrome this is what I found

The previous owner certainly seems as though he favoured leaning a long way over on the left side. The right side is unmarked.

I know I should replace them BUT the cost of shipping a new set from the US to Spain is ridiculous and not in my budget at the moment. I was going to clean them up and do the BBQ paint mentioned in another thread on the forum until funds allow the replacement.

My question is I know the headers are double thickness so is this anything to worry about?

Not actually a double thickness but they are a pipe inside a pipe separated by an air space.  I've scraped my pipes a few times and just plain old silver paint has held up wonderfully, and keep the scrapes less noticeable and stops rust from taking over.
