I've been looking around and searched the site to find out the floorboard package is the only way to get a heal toe shifters for our bikes.... Sad I'm not a big fan of floorboards, feet are up on the highpegs most of the time and I like real pegs when riding hard.  I was wondering if anyone has made a heal toe shifter for their bike with stock pegs? I was thinking of buying a stock shifter and welding up a heal kicker....

Don't put the floor boards on the bike, just leave your pegs.

I've had 2 different heel-tow brands of shifter, and am trying to remember how they mount. I don't think it matters.

If you can find a used Rattlebars (or ultra rare Kuryakyn) heel toe shifter,  they work with just the OE or aftermarket pegs fine.

The only new and still available setup is the MCE with big boards and heel toe shifter as a package.

Now there is supposed to be a way to use a Wing heel toe shifter on the valk, with the right amount of spacers and bolts.  And finding a used Wing shifter is much more likely and cheaper than a used Rattlebars shifter (called a kickshifter).   http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/1800wingshiftermod.pdf

thanks guys, I will keep an eye out for a used one. I much prefer a complete shifter and not an add on. Thinking fabrication is the way to go....just need a stock one to try on. Maybe the CBR1100xx shifter others have mentioned for a double upgrade...

I have this set up on two of my Valks (Thanks again Ken) and it works great, I also have a Rattlebars and Kuryakyn.  All have floorboards, so I can't comment on using them with stock pegs, but it should work.

Heel-toe shifters are De Debbil and will ruin your transmission's shifting forks due to the excessive force your heel applies to the mechanism...

...or they're the neatest thing since sliced bread.

Opinions can and have varied wldely.

FWIW, I'm running a Kick Shifter/Peg Relo Kit on both of my Valkyries at the moment. The OEM shifter arms were modified to take a small Kuryakyn shifter peg and the engagement point of the Kick Shifter is sandwiched between a pair of flange bearings. A selection of spacers and shims positions the bearings and peg so that the bearing outers can freely move but the inners and peg are locked securely to the shift arm.

A larger Kury shift peg is mounted at the opposite end of the Kick Shifter and the driver pegs are a pair of large ISO-Pegs (not the Dually type) with a 1" Kuryakyn spacer between the peg and the mount adapter.

The setup seems to shift both bikes easily and smoothly, though they can clunk at times (just like the OEM configuration) if you shift at a point where the gears aren't rotationally synchronized.

I have the Chrome World one written up in one of the above posts.  Works great and was a fraction of the cost of other brands.  It came with two larger shift pegs.  I mounted one of them in place of the stock peg.  I can post a pick later, if you are still interested.

I don't know about any additional wear and tear on the tranny.  Lots of guys use heel toe shifters.  I use mine intermittently, usually going from first to second, then it's toe shifting rest of the way.
