Well this is a long story so Ill try to make it shorter.  A year ago at Daytona, we were parking motorcycles and cars in the little parking lot of the church we are partners with.  Now without going into extreme detail, this parking lot has a prayer garden in it.  Grass surrounding  three white croses, a couple cement benches and a fish pond (no fish in the fish pond) This pond is not much larger than a big hot tub.

Ok so Im backing a truck up onto the grass in front of the fish pond and the last thing I tell the driver is "Ill stop you before you go into the pond.  Im walking backwards, making sure he maintains safe clearance to the cars next to him, making sure the tree lims are going to miss his roof when WHAM...yep, you guessed it right in the fish pond I fall.  Wet from the neck down.  I pull out the cell phone drop the battery like a spent magazine on a quick fire exercise and shake the water out, yank the wallet and anything else I dont want soaking in green pond water.  (the cell phone lived).

At least it was a hot day and I dryed off in a couple hours....but the boots.  Holy crap they smelled bad.  I soon found out why.........about 20 minutes after my tumble I saw the grounds keeper that takes care of the church and I told him he needs to clean that water as it is really stinky.  He said "Ive been trying, just the other day I fished out two dirty baby diapers"  I really didnt need to hear that.  Well upon arriving home after the trip I gave them a good rinsing inside and out and left them outside...took them a month to stop stinking.

All was ok with those boots until this trip to Daytone.  It rained HARD on us going down and wouldnt you know it, my waterproof boots (left one) is no longer water proof.  The left one is now squishy wet and when I finally take it off, smells just as bad as the day (year prior) I fell in the baby poop pond.

well, they kinda dried during our trip, but last night we had a fall festival at our church, I was picked to run the parking lot, so I had to run all over guiding cars, grills, kids...whatever....feet got a tad sweaty.  I wake up in the middle of the night smelling wet baby poop.

So heres the answer, when your boots smell so bad they wake you up at night its time for a new pair.  Im wearing them for break in purposes right now.  Herman Survivors with gel pad inserts from Wal Mart.  I know, China crap, but they are waterproof for a couple years and they are light, comfy and cheap.....one of the few Made in China products I dont mind buying because they take care of my feet so well.

So there you have it......How you know.  Oh and I recommend the boots except they are thick soled and it makes shifting hard if you have a stock shifter until you get used to it

Do your wally world boots look like these?
I have a pair of Cruiserworks for about 8 yrs now. The sole cracks in various places and sent them back to their re-soler once. cursed if they didn't crack within a coupla months. I wore them 7 days a week tho. They were too $$$ so I'm thinkin of something cheaper and waterproof.

No, mine dont look like that...they are black, they go higher up the legs.......they are the Commander model.......not shown on Walmarts Website for some reason, but they have them on the shelf.  Right next to and looks similar to the brahma swat, but waterproof (bramah swat doesnt appear to be)

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I have a pair of Survivors from Wal-mart. Mines the slip on mc boot type. Had them sine 2000 and are still going strong. I dont own others so i wear these out on the town also. Best boots Ive had. $40. With walking I bet they have 100,000 miles on them.
