anybody using this for carburetor and upper cylinder lube?  It seems many are using it and there is much written on it by experts in the field.

Common to use in early Cummins engines to make up for the "dry" Diesel that is supplied now.

yes I use it in my powerstroke. many report a consistent 1-2 mpg gain also and there was a diesel additive test which showed the same.

the link is about using it in gasoline engines also but a reduced dose compared to diesels. I've been looking for a gasoline high temperature lubricate for carburetors and upper cylinder and it seems I've found it.  cooldude

some are posting that it also stabilizes the ethanol fuel also.

Years ago, I asked a guy who owned a motorcycle repair shop about using "stabil".  He answered "don't know about Stabil, but I do a lot of carburetor work on ATV's, but seldom work on carbs on dirt bikes". He suggested using 2 stroke oil as a stabilizer in the winter. I used two stroke oil in the winter in the full gas tank for probably five years, never had a problem. Bikes would start fine and run fine in the spring, no smoke etc.  Last few years I have been using Seafoam,  but I think the two stroke oil does work. Never had a problem with the weed eater or blower leaving the two stroke gas in them over the winter.

I’ve been adding 2oz. of TC-W3 oil per 5 gallons of gas in my older bikes for a while now. The goal is to enhance top end lubrication and to diminish some of the harmful effects of ethanol. How well it works only time will tell. I do believe it will enhance the resistance to rust susceptibility of the exhaust as some of the unburned oil will precipitate out in the pipes and baffles and coat the walls. I see no difference in performance, positive or negative.

My issue with gas additives has always been the containers leaking in my bags tickedoff tickedoff

I'm going to give this a try with these.

They seem to have good positive caps that hopefully won't fall off. Roll Eyes  Plus I can measure out an once at a time. cooldude

Researching the price and availability of TC-W3 oil, Super-Tech and Pennzoil seem easiest to get and the least expensive.

Can't believe the difference in prices, from $13.00  to $80.00+ per gal.

When adding oil to the fuel tank ,as  it passes thru the main jets and displaces the amount of fuel the jets can pass.  I ran into this with my H2 drag bike when I switched it to premix from oil injection.  Oil injected into the cylinder dose not pass thru the main jets as it will when added to the fuel .  Just FYI.

How did you measure to get that number?
