I tried to pull my alternator, big mistake. I cant get it out, and I cant get it back in.
Any thoughts, or any good AZ mechanics

It may seem like it won't go, but it will. Take a break, readjust. You have to have just the right tilt and it will go.

You can prolly find enough help here on the board to get it resolved.
But if not, give Roger a call at C&R Cycle tomorrow.  He's a good guy.
He's over near where Alvernon meets the freeway.
If you are into vintage Wings, he has the best boneyard in Tucson!

Anything in the beginning of this article (courtesy of Ratdog) provide any insight or help?

Remove both side covers. Unbolt center cover from frame. Lift center cover up until the lower tab pops out of the gromet. Now you have more room cooldude

There IS one position in and one position out or vice versa. FINDING that position are in fact the trick. The 2nd and 3d time you do change the alt do become easier. I guess just keep at it-when frustration sets in-walk away. As an aircraft mechanic in the Navy that walkin away thing helped me more than once- It also werx on civy street.  cooldude WHEN you do find THAT angle the cursed thing practically falls out. RIDE SAFE.

I have to admit, R&Ring the alternator and the rubber boot on the driveshaft are the only two things that have ever made me cry and sob like a little girl. The alternator has a small sweet spot for removing and replacing. Until you find it, you are doomed. It is there. Good luck

Removed my center cover completely as to not scratch it with the bolts protruding from the back of the alternator. However still scratched it but it is low enough on cover to not be seen when installed. It will go. I had to put in and take out three times in one session. Once you find that sweet spot it is pretty easy to do. The biggest problem I had was the rubber dampers that the blades fit into moved and wouldn't let me get the blades to seat.( that's why the install and removal 3 times tickedoff 2funny)
