I would like to talk to someone that has installed Hyperpro fork springs. I bought them, but my short attention span and their instructions left me blind. Would I just use the normal procedure to rebuild with them or is there some secret I am missing in that book of instructions?

I installed them in my '05 GoldWing. I rebuilt the forks in the normal way using the springs and their supplied fork oil.

I installed Hyperpro in my Interstate thousands of miles ago . i used the accepted procedure for rebuilding of the forks, as out lined in the manual, and all is good.

Do you remember the amount of oil you used in each fork?

The instructions can be found on EPM Performance's website.

Hyperpro springs ship with one quart of (IIRC) 15w fork oil. This is NOT enough to do both legs if you go by the "fill-to-indicated-level" procedure as outlined in the Honda service manual. I ended up using some Maxima oil of the same weight to make up the difference when I did the forks on my Tourer last May.

These springs are really slick.

Now just need a set of Works Performance shocks for the rear and the suspension will be perfect.

Since I have the forks totally disassembled and squeaky clean, I thought I would use the measured amount of oil stated in the manual. Would the manual amount be proper with the Hyperpro springs? Or should I change it?

I used the measured amount as listed in the manual. I believe some have left out some portion to change the dampening. If you would like to change the dampening effort of the oil I prefer to change the oil weight. You can also tune the viscosity by mixing like oils.

I am not really getting my head wrapped around the oil in the forks. The oil Hyperpro ships is about 15 ozs shy of the measured amount the Honda manual calls for. So, what did everyone do that used this kit?

Did you take about 7 ozs from another brand and mix with Hyperpro oil? Would it be best to just get another bottle of Hyperpro and use it, or does another oil mix make the forks work better?

Or, should I just chunk the Hyperpro oil and go with something else? Amsoil?

Hyperpro sends 15 weight and the manual states to use 10 weight. I mixed in 10 weight to make up the difference.

Bel-Ray High Performance

Thanks. By my calculations, He sends us just under 38 oz. of oil and specs say we need just over 47 oz. of oil. And, as I read it, he doesn't send us enough oil to fill both forks to his specs.

What are you going to do.....
