So the speakers are all in and I’m trying to run the wires properly for the rears. I can’t get the trunk liner out though. I’ve removed all screws and bolts and taken the lid off but it doesn’t want to separate from the fibreglass. Am I missing something, is there a trick I’m not aware of? Suggestions please.

Go to a parts fiche for the I/S and look at the trunk detail. It WILL help immensely. And oldsmokey has a point too. Been awhile since I had mine torn down. RIDE SAFE.

First did you remove the weather strip around the lower half and undo all those little screws hiding on under it?
Second; did you remove the hinges from the lower half?
And it's all plastic so be careful.

And the five rubber mounts  need to be removed.  By the way the oem wiring harness just runs out of the bottom of the left speaker then behind the backrest to the right  speaker the just runs down the front of the trunk and behind the chrome rail to it's connector behind the right side cover. I hate drilling holes in expensive plastic motorcycle parts.   cooldude

Sounds like I may have missed some from under the trunk, anyone know if the bolts for the CB have to be removed as well?

Got it. I forgot the screws underneath and you have to remove the five large rubber grommets  inside the trunk where you take the bolts out. They really hold the liner down well just by themselves but once removed the liner lifts right out. My rear speaker wires are now run so that part of the project is complete.
