If all goes well, I’ll be picking up a 99 interstate this Sunday.
My only problem is that my HOA does not allow motorcycles in our development.
In one past, I used to ride to the back of my townhouse and bring it in the sliding glass door.
That worked out fine for my Kawasaki Concours. But I think the Fat Lady might be too big.
If anyone can please give me the widest part of the bike, which I assume would be the fairing I’d really appreciate it.     Thanks in advance!!

Are the covenants that you can't have a motorcycle parked outside ? Or not have a motorcycle at all ? In a garage ok ?

I would too. Actually, I never would live somewhere that was that anal about stuff to begin with. I was curious if it was just the parking of motorcycles in the open. I don't see how legally a homeowners group can dictate what kind of vehicle you have.

We have a historical area here. I lived just outside it for years, and for good reason. They tell people how to take care of the exterior and renovation of their homes. Even as much as color change, roofing and windows. Additions to a home in that area were governed by the histerical society.

I used to attend regular city council meetings as part of my job. People would try to update homes in this histerical area and be stopped by the society because updates didn't meet requirements.  The famous statement was. " when this city starts paying my taxes they can tell me what to do". Until then, stay out of my business ".

Some just did what they wanted. Others even sold and moved. After years of fighting with homeowners, lawsuits and other problems the rules have changed and the society has loosened it's grip. But, there are still rules, and comprimises have been made. The look and feel of the area is the same but allowances have made it easier for everyone all the way around.

Here an association of any kind in order to be legal has to be registered with the state. If not, they have no jurisdiction in their proclaimed area.

YUP-kinda the WHY of Marching in step and such like!  2funny In my case the Military Was a cursed good move for me. I remember before even buying my donor car-56 Chevy-asking the village Where I could keep it til I'm done salvaging parts off of it. It ended up behind my house and not one neighbor had a complaint. NO H O A but I did NOT need a ticket from the village for a derelict auto. When I was done it was winched up on a flat bed and sent to an automobile grave yard. RIDE SAFE.
