Hello, everyone. Can any of Rivco Highway Pegs owners provide a short review ? Is it worth buying ? Are they comfortable ? Would you recommend them ?

I like the way the Rivco pegs mount it looks clean. But if you leave the pegs out and your bike falls over it can damage your valve cover.

Just bolting them onto your bike is an upgrade compared to the plastic thing Honda put on there. I hate them as footpegs, though...

The positives: They are adjustable, to use them/stow them all you require is the toe of your boot, so you don't have to reach down; they are sturdy, video shows a guy standing on one, but why; they come in all black to match the blue Valk engine or chrome for the maroon or black ones; they don't stick out like elephant ears. The negatives: They are pricey and you can't just order one if it gets damaged; you can't rest you entire foot on it, similar to a floorboard That being said, I am happy with my purchase and, they are not the run of the mill pegs everyone seems to have. Got nothing but positive comments from people seeing them.

I've had mine for about a year now. I basically agree with most of the previously posted comments. A couple other things: They not only come in chrome or black, they also come in brushed aluminum, which I chose as they really compliment the engine and just look like an integral part of it. I also agree that they look nicer than the cheesy plastic chrome strips with "HONDA" emblazoned them. Lots of adjustability for length of inseam. (Four positions, if I remember correctly.) Bike looks like it came that way from the factory and hardware is hidden. Pricey, yes, but if I had the choice to do it again or go a different route, I'd still buy them. I think the decades-old idea of clamping on a pair of "custom" stretch pegs anywhere you could find a downpipe LOOKS like they're decades old. And if you take a close look at the underside of the Rivco footpeg, there is a deep notch carved across the peg. From an engineering perspective, I could not figure out why that was there on each peg's underside. So, being the kind of person that I am, I called the factory and spoke to them. Someone above commented that if your bike went over when the aux. pegs were out that it could damage your engine. The factory rep told me that the cuts were carved in the bottom of the pegs to prevent exactly that from happening. Your peg will snap off at the cut-line before you do any real damage to anything, according to him. And yes, you can get spare parts, should you need them, directly from them, as I had to do. (I was playing with the pegs before I installed them and was getting used to how tight the adjustable hinge would have to be to easily get them deployed with my boot toe and yet not just open up by themselves due to road vibration. As I loosened/opened one of them all the up, a very tiny, BB-sized glass ball-bearing fell out, bounced out of my garage door, and apparently found a wormhole to a new dimension. It has yet to write home. Apparently I was not the first person to do this and, with a sigh, the rep said he'd send out another one to me right away. And did.) Last comment: I, too, thought that my legs weren't quite in the same position I'd had them in when cruising on my HD bagger. But the reason is, I realized, that our radiator pods are so wide that I sit differently with my legs outstretched as compared to the position of my legs on extended pegs on the HD. Reminds me of a horse I had as a little kid whose back was so wide I felt like I was doing the splits when I was riding him bareback. Bottom line: if you can afford the $300 bucks or so that they cost, ie.: your lifestyle won't have to change because of the decision, then get them. You won't find anything else that looks so custom-made for this bike; because they actually WERE made for just this bike (engine), unlike any others I looked at. Hope this helps.

Love mine, but just to be clear while advertised as having 4 positions to adjust there are really only 3, has 5 tapped holes and the mount uses 2 with a 1 hole gap so you could bolt them into 1-3, 2-4 and 3-5.

Without question the cleanest looking install available. They do tend to be higher than most conventional clamp on style. Higher is ok with me because I combined them with a set of Mick-O-Pegs, GD model. Now these two together are better than I ever expected! Low. High. Close. Far. I find they both are extremely well made, look good and provide excellent comfort.

Got the Hwy pegs installed Saturday. Took the Valkyrie out for about 100 miles today and tried them out. They work great, just gotta get used to flipping them out with while riding. Nice and clean install.

I have had mine for a couple of years now. Tips from my perspective: 1: Boots. I ride the Johnny Reb boots with the really industrial tread, in fact specifically for that tread. I can basically hook any part of my sole on there and it stays put so I have actually many positions available. I find them uncomfortable with anything with a thin sole. 2: Probably a good practice to drag them back just a bit when you take your feet off so they fold slightly, easy as to do with your feet on the lift off. I had read one guy stationary dropped and the peg got punched in causing various unhappy issues. At speed that will not be an issue. Hah. 3: If you don't close them at least a bit one day you will walk into it and then you will learn that you don't even care about any oil leak. How I laughed when I found that one out. 4: Someone might point out to you that they are not even when you look down on them from above. They are even. The cylinder heads aren't. If you are hung up on symmetry this will mess with you when you see it. Forever. 5: I generally leave them out to some degree because I never could work out how to get them out with the boots referred to in item 1.

I just ordered them, will post pictures installed. I agree they look better than plastic Honda piece, plus they fold up out of the way.

Shrubbo- As I have several different pairs of riding boots (for various reasons) that are all different in toe thickness, I was concerned about the same problem. That's why, while fooling around with the adjustment pivot, I lost the little glass BB bearing and had to shamefacedly call the manufacturer and ask them to please send another. If you're patient, you can VERY-fine-tune that pivot screw to where it won't let the peg vibrate out and yet will still come out with a gentle prod of the toe. I also took off the tiny black rubberized peg extractor nubs (my term for them) beneath each one and then cemented them back on. Didn't want them to fall off and then scuff a hole in my boot tip over time.
