Shocked I can't believe bidding is over $2300 for this thing. You could build one cheaper with a brand new riding mower.  uglystupid2

If that's the same one that was at the EAA Fly -In in Wisconsin, he recently got a DUI ticket wherever he lives. Apparently going down the road on his Lazy Boy, weaving all over and dumped it in a ditch as I recall. The cop that saw him busted him for DUI. If it had been me chasing him, I would have been laughing too hard to write.

I wonder why they took the vehicle from him? If you get a DUI you dont lose your ride do ya?
another thing that poped into my mind is that he wasnt driving,,he was riding and there aint no such thing as a RUI,,is there?
looks to me like those city folk are trying to make a profit on anothers misfortune,, i mean good Lord it aint like he could hit someone head on and do any damage, unless a bike hits him maybe....
i just think the city is wrong selling that mans property...
george jones got to keep his lawnmower...

Well In MN you can lose your ride but ONLY after MULTIPLE DUI convictions. He has had way more than one chance I am sure, after all, would you make and ride a chair so you can drive without out a DL if you had a DL ??

looks like he got a DWI out of the deal not a DUI..............Dennis Anderson of Proctor is the chair's now former owner. Authorities say he was three-times over the legal limit when he crashed the 'La-Z-Boy' into a parked car last year.     cooldude

Quote
La-Z-Boy Puts Brakes on DUI Chair Auction

Mere hours before bidding was scheduled to end on the infamous DUI La-Z-Boy-Mobile, the motorized recliner
suddenly vanished from the auction -- and TMZ has learned it's all because of a battle over its name.

With the price at $43,100 and rising, eBay received a demand letter from the most unlikely of parties -- the La-Z-Boy corporation itself. We're told La-Z-Boy played the trademark card due to the title of the auction "La-Z-Boy DWI Chair" and eBay was forced to pull the auction.

Here's the worst part: the chair was being auctioned off by the Proctor Minnesota Police Department and all profits were to benefit the taxpayers.

We're told La-Z-Boy "felt bad" about stopping the auction -- but hey, business is business.

Fear not motorized chair enthusiasts -- we've learned the cops plan on re-listing the chair in just a few hours.
