Picked up a '97 tourer several months ago and in the of process of going through it. I need cables, took one off and measure it 36" of black covering plus you have the exposed cable on the carb end at 2.5" and the metal curve at the throttle is 2 5/8ths. I think all is standard but here is some measurements, risers are 2.5" to bottom of handle bars the bars are 8" from top of bar to the highest point of the bars, put a yard stick across. We still have an IS in the family and many moons ago I put taller risers on it and do no remember what the stock ones were. Everything else on the bike is stock except for seat. Thanks for any info.

Curious where you found the stock length information?  I'm looking for what the stock length is for the 99 Interstate.

I took a chance and ordered a set. I saw the IS length in the search, I put in throttle cables and there was a thread on cables and someone answered with the IS length.  I think it was 42" from the curve that did not include the cable hang out. The thread was on the second page, just scim through what they show you and when you see it bring it up

Use the search on this Valk sight it is up to the right under the Valk T shirt add it will bring up all the threads that pretain to a topic. Put in throttle cables and it will go from the newer ones to old ones just read the heading of each and some of the answers witch are shortened if you find one interesting click on it and it will bring up the full thread. When you are done hit back and you will have to start all over some times what you are looking for stays up there and some times you will have to type it in again.

Ok. I didn't realize you referring to this site... thought maybe it was a manufacturer's site.

Thanks!
