Beautiful day so I just started to ride and ended up going down to the dealer. There were 2 wings in the parking lot and one on the floor and I was surprised to see them. First impression is they look nice and are smaller in design and in someways seem smaller than my 1800 Valk. You sit in a comfortable position fully upright and a little higher than my Valk. I did not get a chance to ride it but the engine is so quiet that you barley hear it. Its nicely laid out, but I'm not so sure its for me even though the big command console is gone and its much narrower below the handle bars. There are many buttons and controls not only on the center of the tank but also on the handle bars. The dash is good and easy to see and tells you quite a bit. I would have to ride one to see if I would like it though. Im pretty clean with my bike and the one thing I didn't like about it was the heads stick out to the side pretty far with no cover on them so water lays on the top of them. The heads do seem to stick out a bit since the whole bike is a bit more compact this is noticed pretty easily.

Went by the 27 gas station to see if there was anything interesting and there were alot of bikes there.

This guy was on top of a telephone pole that I stopped near, he was just hanging out watching the people.

I hated the old wings for looking like a boat on wheels, and that's one reason I went for the Valkyrie. I love this new design. If only I could afford it. Kinda hoping they won't sell well, then in a couple years, I'll snag it for half price. Smiley

I love the look of the new F6B, but the bags are even smaller than before and those were too small.  coolsmiley

I went in to my Honda dealership today, just to chat.  Inside the door of the showroom was a new Star Venture.  The farkles on that machine were over the top.  Heated seats and grips, forward/reverse electric motor for parking lot maneuvers, and on, and on, and on....  Not anything I would ever want.

The seat height seemed a touch lower than ours.  And I was able to get the weight off the side stand with about as much effort as our bikes.

The trunk was HUGE!  More than enough room for two full-coverage helmets.  And the panniers had very nice capacities without appearing too big.  But oh the farkles!

The parts man said their new Goldwing was sold before it was delivered.  It came off the back of the truck, got put together, and headed off the lot with the new owner.  The plastic on the bike was said to be too much, and the luggage was not accommodating enough.  Some people at the shop were said to be really disappointed with the new Wing (compared to the Star Venture).  C'est la guerre.

You know I was thinking a couple of days ago about my sitting on the wing at the dealer when I went and looked at it and it occurred to me it seemed high. I couldn't quite understand what was wrong or even describe it but you sat on the bike instead of in the bike. Now that could have been the factory seat but I felt like I was really high up and didn't like it.

The other thing is, I really like our bikes and have never been in a situation that I felt I needed a reverse or anything more than I have knowing the more complexity equals more weight and more repairs. In fact I find that our bikes are fairly easy to maneuver even walking them. I have wondered and have not done it to much, but walk the bike with the engine and clutch, just in case of an emergency situation.
