No leaks to be found so took it for a ride. Got about two blocks away, was headed over to a friend's place with it, suddenly it started backfiring, popping like crazy, finally running on no more than two cylinders. Made a U-turn and got back to the house and shut down. The bike kinda swayed back/forth when I got off so I didn't hear any fuel sloshing in the tank. That's when I discovered one important fact.....it runs so much better with gas in the tank.  Embarrassed

I don't understand what happened, I put gas in it when I bought it.  Roll Eyes I now have a cut down OEM seat on it, probably ought to get it recovered but for now I just cut the corider section off and folded the excess material underneath and stapled it in place. Once in place, I cut the excess material off, rides a lot better....just doesn't look very good.

First time I took out my interstate, I did not know the flashing gas gauge meant you had to turn on the reserve. Lucky for me I "ran out" of gas in front of a gas station. When I filled it up it only took about 6 gallons and I wondered why, till I glanced down on the gas valve and saw the "R".  crazy2 tickedoff
