Very nice bikes ! But, I’ve got to think about it for a while. Rancho RideNow in Vegas has the red Tour DCT in a crate in their warehouse. Their out the door price was $30,325, not including AZ taxes and registration. Brenda was ready to get it when she saw the dash come on and windshield go up.  Grin It felt good, but I think I’d need a Russell for it.

Waiting on a call back from HOR for their price.

Wow, it's hard to believe there would be that much difference in price. Are you sure it for the same bike?

Seat wasn’t comfortable for you?  Or the passenger? Or both?

Hoping for the call any day now that mine is in.

I know. But I talked him for quite a while about paperwork, transportation, and other stuff. Gold wing Tour DCT Red. Maybe I’ll call back tomorrow and talk to a different salesman. I was thinking if I did go with them, I’d set it up to pick up in June and ride to Roanoke. But because of Honda dealer territories you give a deposit and then have to be there within a couple days of arrival to sign paperwork in person. Evidently they can’t order more until the paperwork is done.

It wasn’t bad. Probably on par with most Honda seats. I’m kind of a pussy when it comes to seats. 400 miles on my stock Valkyrie would kill me. It would make multiple 500 mile days not much fun. The Ultimate was better, but the Russell makes multiple long days doable. Don’t be discouraged by my wimpieness . Which model and color are you getting ?

The matte grey Goldwing. Then adding the rear box, centre stand, Tour windshield.

I like the grey with the black exhaust/engine/headers.. Don’t get the heated seats or electronically adjustable suspension...but like the Valk, I’d likely set the suspension once and leave it there forever.

Saves some $$ that way too. I figure no point paying for stuff I don’t need or want.

They say the root beer one looks amazing in the sun.

Nice. I'm gonna wait to see what the aftermarket comes up with for Highway pegs. I finally have my '06 dialed in so I'm not in a rush..

Yeah, Tom. I was looking at it trying to figure how they could be done. The only place I see is where the plastic (maybe rubber) engine guard is. But, I’m not sure how they will make them adjustable. I would have to wait on a backrest also. I don’t like it not folding or adjusting.

Well, I talked to HOR again. $24,800 for the GWTour DCT RED. He is able to do a work around for me to pick it up on the way to Roanoke. I’m getting closer !

Wow, that is a huge difference in price,  from $30,000 for the Tour model.

Are you going to ride your Valkyrie IS  to HOR and trade it in or are you and Brenda going to fly out there ?

Decisions decisions, either way,  very exciting news Rob  Grin

I think if I get it, Brenda and I will fly to Little Rock then rental car to Russellville. She will probably fly back from Roanoke. I didn’t even ask about a trade in. I assumed they wouldn’t give much for it. Are you going to inzane this year ?

Good choice to fly out there.  I knew you were going to Inzane,  was curious what your plans were to obtain the new bike.

I'm not sure about going to Inzane this year.  The wife and I are still talking about it.
Its still a maybe  Cheesy

Ok, I put a deposit down on one of these new fangled shiny Red Wings.  I got a better price through Western Honda in Scottsdale than Rob was quoted but not by a whole lot.  Local guy was better but wasn't coming up with a bike.  Neither could touch HOR's price, but I don't have to fly half way across the country.  Mine should arrive the end of this month.

Cool. You already have the pictures of you and your new bike, without having the bike yet. Well done. I really liked that color.

So what's the latest Rob, I may have missed your post, are things lined up for Russellville? If so, when does it look like you'll be there?

I stayed just the other side of the freeway from HOR, I could see it from the Motel 6 parking lot. They were closed when I hit town and then I left out before they opened the next morning.

FWIW, on that same opposite side of the freeway, this place wasn't bad for a quick burger & fries. Strolling distance from the Motel.

2funny Love the shirt Gary  cooldude I'm going to wait for now. I was about 98% decided to get the bike. Then one day as I was walking out to my bike to go to lunch, it hit me how much I like my Interstate. I realized I would be sad to get rid of it. It wouldn't make much sense for me to keep it if I bought the GW. I still have my Standard and hardly ever ride it. Having 3 would just be taking up room. With Brenda's Miata and my bikes, the garage is pretty well maxed out now.
Never say never though. Maybe in a year or two, I'll change my mind again.
See you in June  cooldude

I agree with you Rob, That why I kept the Valkyrie and never got into a wing.  I was just never ready to give her up.  Lots of good miles, lots of good friends, and many happy memories.  The "Blue Dragon" has earned that spot in my garage.

I fully understand. I use to get to play Jenga (or would that be Tetris) with these 4 puzzle pieces. Maintenance, insurance, parts, attention, old gas all come into play. Thankfully my son Nick took on the IS.

So then you're back to the getting there in 4 days plan? TGFR - Thank Goodness For Russell

Grin yeah that’s the plan. Right now I’m hoping to make mid Tennessee Friday night. And then have 2 days to enjoy the Blue Ridge Parkway. I may be biting off more than I can chew. We’ll see how it goes. Maybe I’ll catch up to you guys before Roanoke.  cooldude

I think you made the right choice Rob.

I know it's natural progression we are supposed to grow up and get a goldwing someday, but I ain't ready, probably never will be either.

Hope you don't burn out on your ride to VA, looking forward to hitting the hill roads with ya. cooldude
