Well the 3rd Sat is coming up, and George and I are still meeting up at the Road Runner Cafe. This months, Mar 17, there is also the annual big gun show, put on by the HACS.

http://www.hacsbc.ca/hacs-annual-show/

Tess and I will be going for breakfast, then off to Chilliwack.

Just putting it out there, in case anyone else might be interested in going too.

I used to go when I was a teen, looking over the antiques, but I haven't been there for years, since they moved out to Chilliwack.

Supposed to be a great weather weekend....I believe the bike will see its insurance renewed and I'll be  gingerly navigating her through the remaining sand on my road down from Mt Woodside to head out towards Hope for the first ride of this year. I'm "showed-out" after the Motorcycle, RV, and Outdoor shows these past several weeks, and am looking to hit the road.
Maybe meet for breakfast more out towards my way if you're heading to Chilliwack, then I just might join ya.

Paul, I have a soccer game this Sunday AM but will be back in the mid-afternoon. If you're headed out my way, let me know and stop by for a visit if the timing works. Probably head out for a ride myself later that afternoon.

Ride?  Cry  I have no idea when I'll be getting my bike on the road. I've got life happening, and this years riding season may be the first time I'll insure y bike for anything less than a year.

Well Gord, I hope it happens for you in the not too distant future. Thanks again for the oversight and assistance with the alternator...I really appreciated that. .As I indicated in my Ride Report I posted on the General Board last night, I was happy to learn how to do this myself, and that all went well on the first ride and  I arrived home with all pieces intact cooldude

George I wasn't sure if you needed a driver or not, so was going to call before the weekend.

Any idea of where then?

There is an IHop at Vedder/Yale Rd.

Just back from a few days work in Victoria. Seems well keep it in Langley then for breakfast at 8 am.

After I'll drive off to Chilliwack with Tess for the Gun Show.

I'm probably riding Saturday as the weather is looking to cooperate. that's if my flight home Friday from Calgary is not cancelled due to all this blasted snow!! Bit too early for me to meet there in Langley.

OK, Thanks Mike for the suggestion and trying.

I did find a place in Chilliwack, but lunch only. On Lickman, Mooyah. Burger and Shakes.

Lisa and I are heading out tomorrow mid-morning...have to go to Abby to pick something up, then probably go the back roads out to Chilliwack then see how far East we can get on #3 before the roads get bad.

I envy you lower mainlanders. I can't get my bike out of my garage yet, too much snow.

Have a nice time (as if there's a bad time to be had in Hawaii Grin ) Paul. We definitely have to hook up for a good long ride up the #1 or #3 when you return and those roads have cleared.

A yes, Spring Break. But Like MSB said, anytime is a good time for Hawaii, I just wish I can make it there some day.  Sad Tess and I was to have gone this Oct, but this time I couldn't get the time off work. Missed it by a week, someone else bet me to the week off.

Gord, just go a week later, it's still just as beautiful.  Smiley

Mike, yeah, I'll call you when we get back. We're actually moving much closer to you on April 27th. We sold our beach home in White Rock and have purchased a 3 acre parcel in Majuba Hills (just up on the hill above Yarrow). Really looking forward to having somewhere to park my bike, trailer and boat (5 car garage).  Grin
This means I'm an hour closer to meeting you when we ride. I'll be about 20 minutes from Bridal Falls now.
I've booked moorage for my boat at Killer's Marina on Harrison Lake so now you're going to have to show me how to fish. I hear Harrison River and Harrison Lake have great fishing. My s-i-l and grandson are avid Kauai fishermen so they want to try their hand at Canadian fishing. Can't wait!!

My brother was going for 2 weeks, and we where going to share the room. We only had 1 week the two us could make it, but I didn't book. When I went to book, someone else had, so we where out.

Nice, does this mean you're retiring, or just moving closer to the kids?

I looked at Yarrow as a place to try to hold a Rally, nice little place, and not far from anywhere.

My sister just moved down from Kelowna to Sardis, near the old CFB Chilliwack, and closer to her family. Since her husband developed Parkinsons, she is now closer to family and help, without the 5 hour travel.

And the Summer area of Cultus and Chilliwack Lakes. I used to go up in the hills near Chilliwack Lake to some small ones and fish. Never catch anything, but who cares?

A few more years to retirement (3-5). We moved out to White Rock ten years ago but our lives continued to exist in Abbotsford (work, family and friends). We have continued to commute back and forth for ten years and finally decided to move back. Both our girls live in the Abbotsford area as well as both my brother in laws (riding buddies). It's all good.

Being out past all the urban sprawl is definitely where it's at....hop on the bike and you're already there....no fighting your way through Surrey, Langley, Maple Ridge ,  Mission, etc just to get out on the open road or to the best outdoor recreation. Riding the Princeton/ Merritt loop, heading up #1 to Cache Creek for lunch, or just running through the back roads of Hatzic or Chilliwack is now an easy day ride. Then you're home in time for a BBQ or to hit the lake for a swim, fishing, etc. We wish we would have made the move a year or so earlier... cooldude
