After this cold winter, even though I rode frequently but not daily, my idle dropped from 1000rpm to about 750/800rpm. I had the carbs done last July and ride the bike almost daily. 6k miles in 5.5 months. There is no idle up adjustment left on the grey knurled wheel. Any ideas?

Xmas of '16 I bought a valk that didn't run well. For months, I ran seafoam and B12 in each tank. As the carbs cleaned out, I lowered the idle adjust 4 times. Still didn't idle smooth. A couple of weeks ago I stripped the carbs and cleaned out the jets. Then I adjusted downward again two more times. My point is if yours has been adjusted UP to the limit, you might want to do a teardown for jet cleaning.

Before tearing anything apart.  Do a good carb sync and maybe you will have to lower that idle

check fuel flow.  petc#ck and vacuum to and diaphragm which might need replacing. check tank vent line and carb bowl vent lines which are open ended, critters like to nest.  make sure carb vent lines are correctly installed in the rear carb support to prevent hydro lock.

Is that your autocorrect, or does the message board software not like the word "petc0ck"?  Grin

Well, my message preview answered that question.  Roll Eyes Chicken fanciers would need different settings on their board!

We already knew the board changes the f-word to "snuggle", and the c-word for female genitalia to "flower".  Now we know that it changes the c-word meaning "rooster" to "pencil".

Just add a space or hyphen to petco ck.

The other words don't come up often, but the fuel valve comes up all the time.
