at a national chain grocery store that is headquartered in Germany. Anudder hint-you bag yer own groceries. Got done checking out and putting my purchases in the box I got from the store with one side cut out. Put my pure maple syrup in the box on the low side and dumb ass me picked the box up the wrong way and the glass syrup bottle broke when it made contact with the floor.  Lips Sealed The young man that had just checked me out says for me to go back and get another bottle of syrup. And I say-no way no how yer payin fer my screw up. I just clear the doors and he comes running out and in a firm voice-sir Please wait a minute. When he comes back out he has in his hand another bottle of pure maple syrup. Told him it was not his problem but he put the syrup in my cart! I have already been shopping there since I retired BUT they Really cemented customer relations today with me. Have like zero idea if it were my Grey beard or my Nam Vet ball cap or if they do dat fer everyone.  coolsmiley And B T W-thinkin that maple syrup was at or a bit north of $7.00. So how wuz yer day?  Roll Eyes RIDE SAFE.

I'm a big fan of ALDI. Sometimes it's a bit hit and miss regarding consistent stock but that is part of its charm.

Owned by the same corp that owns Trader Joes.

Around here, when folks go to the bag-your-own-stuff stores, they take good canvas carry-alls and stuff like that.  Costco has those stupid three sided boxes too, and crap just naturally tumbles out of them.  That's why I get my eggs at Walmart.  Grin

If you don't have any decent bags to use, take a roll of duct tape with you.  Smiley

I like Aldi myself, although I've been known to empty a good box of it's contents on the shelf so I have something to put my purchase in...

(I do at least neatly stack what was in the box back onto the shelf before taking the box that held it all, I'm not a complete snuggle-head!)

We are frequent shoppers at Aldi - but we have a LARGE collection of cloth bags from lots of different retailers that we bring when we go shopping there. Or - you can purchase old style paper grocery bags for 5 cents  a piece.

Lidl has bought property near us, so theoretically shortly we'll have Aldi and Lidl close to each other...

Usually when Germans are competing this fiercely in close quarters, "Bad Things" happen, so I'll stay on guard! Wink

We have an Aldi here in Roanoke.

I've been there once, the cashier was extremely rude.

I've never been back.

Up in Crystal Lake Il. near da prez's casa is an Aldis. Folks working there are friendly and helpful. Same as the one I frequent in West plains Mo.
Thinkin you should have turned her in for lack of customer skills. Any employee there with enough complaints either gets extra training or the door.
But as we are all aware there are folks that do NOT need to interact with the public.

I hadn't been there before and didn't know about the bags.

She gave me a ton of attitude about it, I told her that I'd never be back and I haven't.

I'm just like that, if a place pisses me off I will take my money and my business somewhere else.

Aldis is usually good local but they need more help at the checkout and stocking shelves.  Most times they ONLY have 1 worker person doing it all and she scrambles back and forth stocking shelves and cashiering.  One person cannot do it both so I understand if she grumbles some since it seems like most jobs nowadays employers want you to do 2-3 peoples jobs for one mediocre pay.
