It seems I'm going thru these faster than I remember. I didn't take note of the mileage I put the last one in, but I'd guess it to be 8-10k ago. A lot of my riding has been back and forth to work, but I have always done that. How long is the normal lifespan of these ?

I don't keep track of how long they last, but the $7 Honda piece magically becomes a $3 Suzuki piece. Identical.

Thanks,Sandy. I have a few on hand. It just seems they are wearing faster. It's probably just my failing memory.

That's probably it. I've been ordering the Suzuki ones also. Their quality control isn't up to par with Hondas.  Grin

I think the SoCal and AZ guys are meeting there for their ride to Virginia. Those retired guys have all the fun .  Wink

Exactly  cooldude I have never replaced one with all the miles I have gone in city traffic.

This belongs on the technical board and not on the general board and they may be able to advise you on how to make it last. Unless your solution of sporadic replacement is working for you.

There's also the possibility that the pin is worn or otherwise mismatched.  I've over a hundred thousand on one of mine.  I've never replaced one although one may be showing signs.
