And related, the U.S.S. Arizona memorial is closed indefinitely.  :'(

I think that is a real commitment to do that.   My hat is off to all servicemen.....but this to me is above and beyond.    Those soldiers all fought together....some gave their lives.....some survived.    To be a survivor and to tell those fallen comrades "I'll be back guys....we will spend eternity together." is just almost unbelieveable.  Again, many thanks to all who served.

Two years ago, there was a lady, the daughter of a WWII and Korean veteran, who donated the necessary materials and flag to  renew the flag display on the Arizona memorial. She paid for her trip to Hawaii to do it and a volunteer with her to do the high work on the pole.  Over many years I have bought American made Flags from her father and her. I have talked many times to her father, who now is passed, and he definitely instilled the patriotic spirit in his daughter.

The Star Spangled Banner flag which I'm now flying, was bought from her and she is following in her dad's footsteps by keeping the flag business going here in New Haven.  She stocks only 100% American made flags of all kinds and flag poles. The business is still in a residential home where it started.

Do you have contact info for her?

Watching the video is very emotional, I can only imagine what the feelings are for the survivors family members at the ceremony.

Sue and I took a Hawaiian cruse in February 2016, which of course included the tour of Pearl Harbor.  Guides impressed upon the visitors that the Memorial was national grave site and that everyone must demonstrate proper respect.  The guides informed us of the survivors ability to be interned with their shipmates, and that video may have been presented.  To any true American, it was difficult to leave the site without a tear in your eye...

Hook, here is one link to Martin Flag in New Haven.  Hope this helps. There is also a different national flag business by the same name. The New Haven one here is the one.
