Well I have wrapped the hotel up

check-in Friday Oct 12 and check out Sunday Oct 14th    cooldude

Comfort Inn & Suites
20 Saw Mill River Road
Hawthorne NY 10532

You have to dial this number only  914 592 8600

Say "Oss' Fall Ride"

Rate for Friday and Saturday night is 130 plus tax

Rate is good thru Sept 26th 2018 bookings.  I have blocked 10 rooms.  You can choose king or 2 queens. All non smoking,  If anyone needs to come Thursday they said they can give a discount but not the 130,

The hotel is the closest to my house, less than five minutes, next to a 24hr diner, an Appleby's and you get free use of ny sports club fitness center 100 feet away. Gas station across the street (not as cheap as at North State Rd 1/2 mile from my house)
Sure looking forward to some great times again in the Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountains

Please let me know if you are in

Evan,

I will be in for the Saturday ride. I ran into Stan tonight at Chatterbox Bike night, but we didn't discuss the ride. Perhaps we will ride in together again on Saturday morning this year (I got to see his new Gold Wing Trike....very nice). I will keep my eye on the posts to see who is coming and when. I am looking forward to Oss' Fall Ride 2018!!!!

I would love to join you for at least part of the trip.  As you know I only live about 20 minutes the hotel so I would likely treat it more as a day trip event being I would still be somewhat on call as well.  When it gets closer I would love to hear the plans to see what I could join in on.  Sounds like fun to me.  I have already been on much of these rides in the few weeks I have had my bike great roads!

Sounds great Oss, Trish will make us reservations in the morning.  Current plan is to ride up Friday with a couple friends on Harley Trikes.  Not sure yet if Trish will bring up her Valkyrie Trike or ride with me.  Looking forward to the ride.  We have not ridden in that part of NY.

The areas that Oss has planned to cruise are some of the nicest roads in the region for sure!  I have had the pleasure of growing up in these necks of the woods and started riding these roads close to 40 years ago.  I have not had the pleasure to ride with a group of bikes more then a hand full of times each of which was a blast.  I looking forward to meeting some of you and joining the group for at least one of the days.

OSS

We were maybe's, but we have to change that to No.
Linda cannot get off work on Friday to make it out there.
It's a 13 hour ride without stops so that leaves no room for the ride.

We have our reservation and one of the Harley rider's has made his.  Still waiting for the other.  She has been out of town but really wants to come up for this ride so we should be 3 rooms.

Hi all. Sorry for the delay.

I was in a car wreck in Arkansas on Sunday am on I-40. Long story, but there was a previous accident. I want aware of it and went to pass a semi in the right lane and struck a LEO vehicle that was in the left lane. He was in the car, luckily he had only a head cut and bumps and bruises. I broke my right wrist and sternum bruises. It hurts to breathe, laugh, cough.

I'm thankful the LEO is ok and I wasnt hurt worse.

I think you're right, no amount of buffing will restore that beautiful shine.

Yes, it was a rental, but no, I didn't take out any insurance.

I'm in Memphis for training for two weeks, going home this Saturday.

It's a business rental, there's going to be a battle before this is over. The company beats it into you not to take the insurance, supposedly they have some sort of blanket policy to cover this stuff. It's going to be a real PITA to get this settled, long story.

I'm just now able to take a deep breath, I still whimper when I get into bed.

I should be healed up fine for the ride.

*crap* I need to make my reservation.....

It was in Hazen. I was taken to the hospital in Stuttgard. Then I found that there was no cab or Uber in the area. They are really out there!

I ended up creating a fake ride in Little Rock with an Uber driver. That put me in touch with him and when I explained my situation, he jumped right out to help me. BIG SHOUT OUT TO JAKE!

He drove from LR to pick me up (over an hour) and brought me to the LR Airport ....

http://www.clintonairport.com/

where I felt right at home.... Evil Evil...

I gave him a very generous gratuity and got my new car...

The camp I went to as a kid is off of Arden road.  Used to go into the park just north of the Red Apple.  Man, I really miss that place.  Used to stop there for breakfast on the way to "the country" with Mom and Dad and Brother.  I can smell the place.  The cafeteria style food selection with the beige fiberglass trays that were so old the splintered and frayed around the edges and bent silverware.  Bikes were always lined up outside even 50 years ago.  Drove by last week and there's a chain linked fence around the building but the huge parking lot is open for meeta nd greets I guess.  Such a shame.  Such history.
