Hey Oss, I’m all signed up for the room. Looking forward to this weekend! I got some nasty hip pain (the other one) going on, so your ride will be my finale for this year. Craig

OSS,
What is the best way to come from the south to get to the hotel and not hit horrible traffic. Dan & Trish

Thanks Rob, I thought I could go 3-4 years before the other hip gave me trouble. WRONG!, I went to the surgeon at the end of July, and after X-rays, he just asked when I want it done. It seems like it’s going bad twice as fast as the first one did. Still thinking about when to do it, winter is our busy time at work so next April or May looks good. Dr. is scheduling 3 months out, then 2 months recoup, so really can’t do it now, besides I’d miss Oss’ great ride!! I can go an hour + before it starts hurting, then a quick stop and walk a bit gets me another hour. Trying real hard not to hit the Oxy... I been riding solo all summer so as not to impose my limits on others, but at least I’m riding, right? Craig

Dan sent you a PM 81 to 78 to 287 to nys thruway is best way but pay attention to the PM for details
Goat trail was open today ! Must have been closed for a head on accident- it happens I have plan B if it is closed no worries
Craig sorry for your pain I will make sure there is a few stops for you
Sunday I am thinking since Dan and Gig may be heading out at 1st light maybe we ride north to 301 then up northeast to hit BBQ and covered bridges in Ct and Mass so you have easier time home with Baldo and Hook
What is the census? In or out Motel or not Gig and Theresa Skinhead Dan and Trish Dan friends Baldo Hook Craig (New Valker) Gman (maybe) NJF6cowboy MHallock DGS65 RDABull HarryC The bull Dagwood anyone coming from south jersey or philly this year? Looks like 14 bikes but 10 coming from ground zero the others meeting on the way. Too many to get to park on cliff road but may go up there sunday morning with those who are left

I'm in with one provision. We just started a new shift bid today, and time off hasn't been awarded yet. It'll be done in the next few days. I don't see a problem, but you know how that goes....
I've got my room booked.
My riding bud Scott may be joining, I haven't gotten a firm yes yet.

I spoke to Stan last week at Chatterbox Bike Night....we will be riding in on Saturday morning, so will not need a room at the motel. Just confirm time and place we should meet up with the group. Looking forward to a great day!!

Did you find your exhaust covers on the side of the road yet? It's not completely out of the question that I could ride down early Sunday morning. Have to play it by ear, with an eye on the forecast.

Hi Evan, Looks like you can count me in. Unlike Joe, I've been tagged for a semi-retirement assignment in Manhattan on the 11th and maybe the morning of the 12th. So I figure to roll into your nape of the neck on the 10th and catch the train back and forth. Any problems with parking the bike at the Ossining station? Joe - Let me know if you want to split a room. Passing on the margaritas though, too likey too mas

Bull and anyone else
The big Saturday ride leaves my house by 9am
Please everyone get gas at the station at the corner of 9A and North State Rd which is less than 1 mile from my house unless you are filling up at the station across the street from the hotel (about 4 miles from my house) There is starbucks etc across the street from that station if you are a coffee drinker. Try to be here by 830am for tire kicking.
1st gas stop will be at least 90 miles down range
Coming north from the hotel on 9A (which is a 2 lane each way) that gas station is on your left turn lane at that light. If you are coming north from the 9A/100 exit off the Taconic it is the 1st light you will come to. Chappaqua Rd where you turn right is the next light. Tappan Terrace is the 1st street on your left and my house is #13 on the left. There is a watch for motorcycles sticker on our mailbox but the Valkyrie's out front should be a dead giveaway lol
Lookimg forward to another epic ride with friends and terrific peak fall foliage

Goat trail SUCKS!!! Just my opinion and I am sticking too it. I have never, NEVER, been on that road when a car or bike didn't cross the double yellow coming in the opposite direction. If this is a must for the ride, don't get behind me because I will be riding much slower than the posted speed limit.

I cant believe I am asking you to get out of your head as I am such a head case myself sometimes
When on that road please Start each turn outside and aim your low point just inside of center of the lane accelerating thru the turn
There are about a half dozen left handers where you have to be on your toes but if you are looking thru the turns you have plenty of space and time........
That said I am not one of the cool kids and will not be taking the route over the posted speed limit (40)
Oss
Gary please take a few passes on the road between now and then, it is a lot less technical than 106. Next weekend looks to be nice and the following weekend even nicer.

Agreed if you watch my link above you will see it may look like I'm weaving through the entire road but I'm riding the curves I long a long time ago not to ride the high side of a curve or you will end up in oncoming traffic. Attending Corvette driving school was also a big help with learning where and how to take turns! https://youtu.be/PoMIQhtKy0o

Just came back from NC 129 (Dragon), Moonshiner 28, Cherohola Skyway, 441 to Gatlinburg, etc and road the 'Goat Trail' last week, as I have done dozens of times. While the trail is much less challenging, they are all handled the same. As OSS said look thru the turn and find your line...not near the center line. I've seen a few (not many) drivers cross the yellow line there over the years, just be aware that it can occur and give yourself room to move to the right in a hurry, a piece of cake. As far as speeding there, it is rare that you are not caught behind slow sightseeing traffic, so you can't go fast even if you wanted to.

If you don't know where your going any road will take you there George Harrison
When you come to the fork in the road, take it Yogi Berra (Don't send it to me C.O.D.)

My Brother Dan will be riding in with me. We should be there mid to late Friday afternoon. Hoping to run up through VT, NH & ME after the weekend ride.
