I have brought home a new to me 01 interstate.   It has the factory fog lights on it.  They do not work.  Could be bulbs, could be wiring.  Have power at the switch in the left pod.   Any one  have a set of installation instructions or a wiring diagram for this set.  Is there a relay in the system?

Thanks

There is a relay. Also mine has an inline fuse. The previous owner taped it up like a mummy. Took me forever to discover it and find the fuse had blown.

Chase the 12volt electricity with a voltmeter. You might have to take your pod covers off for better access. Three metric Allen head screws and off. Pull them off slowly though and kind of watch how it pulls off, kind of a bugger to put back on the first time. There is a rubber grommet attachment towards the bottom rear that you pull outward on the shell to remove the plastic pod. Just for future reference make sure the temp is fairly warm when removing these plastic pod covers, they will crack in cold temps if miss handled.

The power from what I remember?? comes from the right side cover plastic panel, below your seat. When removing this cover pull from the rear of the cover to release the rubber grommet attachment. NEVER pull from the front front side of this cover, there is a plastic clip there that easily breaks. Again, not to mess with in cold weather as this plastic breaks.

Best of luck. Chase the electricity.

One long bolt on each pod goes in the bottom hole towards the outside. The 2 shorter bolts one towards the top the other one in front bout center or so. Do NOT put long bolt in the front facing hole.  Lips Sealed The pod with the switch just might wanna have a Real CLOSE look when you get that one ready to come off and see how Much wire length you have to work with. It is easier to acess the top bolts if the handle bars are turned Away from the side yer workin on. Good luck with your voltage track down.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

Might just be the bulbs burned out.  If you have to replace, here's what I used

He turned me on to those a while back. They are far superior to others I’ve tried.  cooldude

Just FYI. The relay was not zip tied in the vertical position and filled with water.  I made a short adapter harness and used an auto relay as the oem is wayyyyyy too expensive.  They are working fine now

Hey Warren, did you get the fog lights installed and working? I just bought a set of OEM Interstate fog lights from another VRCC Member. The original 11 page instruction booklet came with them.  It includes the wiring diagram and templates for cutting the holes in the radiator pods. Let me know if you need a copy.
