<Hangs head in shame.>

I was stopped at a red light, and a vehicle pulls up on my right, even with my back tire.  Seconds later, it pulls forward, slightly into the crosswalk, so I look right.  Black Dodge Ram, 5.7 Hemi; the driver is probably in his 30s, with a full sleeve of tattoos on his fairly well-muscled left arm.  It seems he didn't want my attention, as his bandanna'd head was facing forward, looking through mirrored sunglasses.  His alloy wheel rim is flat black, highlighting the bright green valve cap, like a dark-skinned fat guy at the beach wearing a fluorescent green Speedo, tiny, but cringingly obvious.

The light turned green, I heard a squeal of tires, and the truck was one or one-and-a-half lengths ahead of me.  My immature ego cranked the right grip, and by the time I was part way through second gear I was several truck lengths ahead of him.  He then moved into my lane due to a minivan ahead in the right lane.

My common sense caught up with my ego, and after passing the minivan, I pulled right and slowed, allowing the truck to speed past.  I'm just glad there was no radar on that road at the time.

Sounds perfectly logical to me. A chase is a race! Gotta let the dragon eat once in a while

I have the same problem. Heading down the highway I always shift to the right lane well before my exit. There is a long of ramp (1.2 miles) so I kick over as soon as possible into the exit lane. Always and I mean ALWAYS There is at least 3 cagers in the far left lane that will try to get within 1/4 mile before cutting across 2 lanes to exit. Odd that they always seem to end up behind me.  Evil
