Long story, short version. Was just finishing up the last leg of a four day trip on the fat lady, Just getting into Louisville headed east. Saw a long black strip of what appeared to be new asphalt in front of me. I'm thinking, no problem, new asphalt is usually smooth and not rutted by traffic tires. Had traffic on both sides of me so, continued forward at the posted speed limit. It was smooth as glass and then all of a sudden the front end dropped, the forks bottomed out and the she started to nose up. Obviously, the rear end followed in short order. Not sure how high she got but we were definitely airborne for a short time. All I'm thinking is hold her tight. Then I realized about the time we did a two point landing that Evil Knevil would have been proud of. But, that thing that just bounced off my helmet was my cell phone, jumped right outa my pocket and landed who knows where..... It slid somewhere at a speed of 60+mph for a while until the next group of cages rolled over it. Twas not a pretty site once I recovered it. Regardless, in that phone was every important contact I have to include my Valkyrie friends. Found out that none of that precious information was in the "cloud" as it was supposed to be..... So, here's my personal request. Those of you who don't mind giving me a shout, email or PM, I'd love to get my friends contact information again. You know who you are..... Rams.

Just a suggestion as it are. On my I/S I have a W/S pouch-3 pocket-and my cell phone has it's own semi rigid case which the encased cell phone resides in and the whole danged mess goes in the center section of the afore mentioned W/S pouch. Bounced a cell phone outin a pocket under similar circumstances and I SWORE-dat chit ain't NEVER gonna happen again! So far So Good! RIDE SAFE.

Along this line, my cell just up and died last week. First, no network. Then after I reboot it, it had the switch of death. It's like someone pressing the power switch and holding it, it cycles on, then off, till I remove the battery.
I search all those online accts I signed up on, gmail, google, and samsung, but I had none of my contacts that should have been syncing there.
I took it to the store, he was able to quickly back up my contacts while it was pausing to turn off again.
From now on, I'll be backing up my cells contacts on a monthly bases, when I back up my PC.

My garage door opener jumped out of my pocket once. Never did find that thing.
Have not lost a cell phone but since the door opener incident, everything of any importance is in a velcroed or buttoned or zippered pocket.

Glad you made it though that unscathed My phone only goes in my front pants pocket or in a button down shirt pocket, just for that reason. Why wasn't that "bump" posted?

I've never owned a cell phone of any kind. Never used a GPS either. However, I have held up my handwritten turn-by-turn instructions on a small piece of paper, and had it blow out of my hand, to be lost forever (or for awhile anyway). It was the wind, and not a bump that did it. Motorcycling is so tricky.

Appreciate the responses.
Just a bump, hoping a few more of my Valkyrie family and friends will contact me.
