I'm a bit annoyed by the stupidity that is presented by insurance companies to sell their wares.  I had assumed they intended to apply some logic as to why one should go their way.  Perhaps the point is just to have their company name stick in one's mind.  Either way, they present the subject as if they're appealing to morons.

I think Liberty's the one where I hit mute as if it were a drug company commercial.

I like the Farmer's ads. Real stories. Real weird stories about what they covered.

Geico ads are stupid.
State farm can be worse.

To some extent All the insurance company ads are stupid. I personally have Shelter on my cage and my scoot. AND I went with Shelter because I have an agent whose office is less then a mile from my casa. Well that and the personalized service and I do NOT have to remind them of my name-they Know me!  Roll Eyes Well they-insurance companies-could hire the screechy thin blond that shills for the medical malpractice lawyers. Which there is worse-screechy thin blond or flo or the lizard?  2funny RIDE SAFE.

Toss up between the lizard and Flo & crew.  Noticed "my" established company isn't on this list.  Hopefully that means they are spending more on claims.

Nearly all commercials piss me off, not just insurance.

Madison Avenue must have decided years ago that appealing to logic and reason didn't sell as well as irritating people so badly they just could not forget the irritation.  And supposedly, the volume increase on all commercials was supposed get fixed (and stopped) some years ago, but I don't think that ever got fixed.
I mute all commercials and try to look away from the screen too, but then miss the return of my program.

Flo is irritating, and so is the Mayhem guy.  They ever walk in front of my truck, I'm gonna have an irresistible impulse.  But Liberty is on the channels I watch, like every single break, over and over.

I'm not much of a gamer (after Super Mario, I had two shooting games I played for a while).   But if someone would come out with a video game where you got to use a 12 gauge on all your favorite commercial yaking irritants, I buy that and wear the joy stick out.

I will agree with Moonshot, the Farmers.... We know a thing or two, because we've seen a thing or two is the best of the lot.  I twice served as USAF Claims Officer (household shipments and international and NATO/SOFA claims, and had a number of pretty crazy claims come my way.

For instance, I had to buy 4 Turkish sheep the Army ran over up at Sinop on the Black Sea, and you think these folks are not well informed, but the farmer said three were ewes and he also expected to be paid for loss of future lambs.  And I got attacked by giant sheep dogs out in the Anatolian Plains investigating how an 82d Airborne field deployment exercise destroyed herd grazing out in the middle of nowhere.

A couple of these guys will scare the hell out of you.  And no tree to be found. They're real friendly with the owner, but if they don't know you look out.

Tired of Flo.
I do like the Mayhem Allstate ads and the Farmers ads are pretty cool.
The State Farm "well, she's a guy, so...." became an internet meme, and it's kind of funny.
I hate the ads for the "high risk" insurance companies (the General, Safe Auto, etc).
I also hate attorney ads, drug ads, and "need cash now" settlement ads.
And any payday loan ads.

You know, long before the mute button, and most remote controls, I opened my black and white TV, cut the speaker wire, wired in an on-off thumb switch, and then ran the switch wire to my seat in the room.

And the commercials back then were not as bad as today; but I HATE uninvited people in my home yelling at me.  (I suppose just turning the TV on invites them, but they are still all rodents of the worst sort).

Buy this.

No.  Suck this.

Stupid commercials don't bother me so much, sometimes they make me laugh other times they make me go WTF.

But, I really do hate the commercials that yell at me.

A couple of local car dealers have commercials that are always screaming at you.

I have vowed to NEVER buy a car from either one of them.

"Mad Men" gave a glimpse of the Madison Avenue, New Yawk advertising world (in a bit of a soap opera-ish way) back in the 50's to 70's era.  The producers were clever in their use of the american dream products of the time and also the sets that they constructed with all the accompanying household items.  The use of automobiles (the Caddys were like battleships) and clothes were spot on.  Everyone smoked incessantly, drank up a storm and rutted like rabbits; all the while creating an illusion of making America great(er) by buying more shat than they ever needed or could afford.  The brilliance of the series was that the producers held that looking glass up to it's current audience to show them that nothing has changed.   American citizens are still regarded as a herd of sheep to be shorn regularly.Lips Sealed

Addendum:  There is no answer in the poll for "All of the Above" and so I respectfully post it as an outlier point of deviance. crazy2

I realize this is Not one of the options BUT I really despise or hate when whatever is being pushed "they" feel the need to repeat their 800 # as many times as they can squeeze it into 6 seconds or so. AND they post that 800 # somewhere on the screen anywho. I'm guessin here but "they" must believe we are ALL stupid or blind or deaf or any combination there of. Again I gotta thank whoever invented the mute button. RIDE SAFE.

As lame as the Progressive "Flo & Jamie" ads and Geico gecko ones have gotten, I don't see how any ads could be more offensive than the Liberty ones, where snowflakes melt over everything being somebody else's fault. From not reading/understanding their own coverage to blaming the people's cars (or trees) they hit for their accidents, every customer portrayed in their ads is pathetic example of supposed victimhood.

Just be happy you have insurance ads. That means you have companies competing for your business and you have reasonable rates.  In my province we have 1 option for insurance.

For my house, bike, truck and kids 2 cars, we’re paying over $9000/year.

I don't pay for TV. I get 22 local stations. I've never seen an ad for my insurance company, USAA.

I mute almost all ads on local TV, especially those that has a guy yelling like if he don't get it all in in the time allotted, off with his ba**.

agree as what you said, but after hearing Shaq blabber on the GENERAL commercial I decided to call them up to get a free quote.  After hearing the 4x's increase in rate vs. what I have now,  I just laughed and hung up.  HIGH risk insurance company the General must be for who would be that stupid to pay 4x's your current rate?  I guess they have to pay Shaq all those millions for their stupid commercials..

I recently at work got yet another insurance quote from Liberty mutual since suppose to get a 15-20% company related work discount, will see, but pretty sure will not be current Progressive rate.  Nowadays you have to shop around to save 100's off your premiums.  Having 2 kids on 4 vehicles sucks.

Nope! 3 months max then you need to insure locally.

I'm paying 3 cars, 2 @ $1700 and 1 @ $2100. Townhouse contents are now at $800. All per year. My bike costs another $1500 now, but I cancel the insurance when not ridding.

It varies province to province.  In Alberta (and some other provinces), we have private insurance.  Companies from outside Alberta can write Alberta policies if they follow Alberta regulations.  I'm paying a little less than $300/month total for two cars (minimum coverage), the Valk (comprehensive), and the house.

As usual when a commercial comes on I don't pay too much attention and usually grab my tablet to surf a little. Last night that commercial caught my attention for like the last 10 seconds or so and didn't see it again until a few minutes ago and remembered this thread. When I saw the whole thing it made me laugh, a real laugh not just a chuckle. Whoever came up with that did a good job, funny stuff.
