Rode up North over the weekend to the 8th annual Walker MN Legion ride for Vets.  Had around 95 bikes show up.

I've been going for 7 years now, missed the first year.  For the first time another Valk showed up.

I met Gary from Longville MN, he just bought the bike in July this year from someone in Duluth, MN.

Had a great ride, good weather except for the overcast from the fires in Canada to the north.

Stopped a two other American Legions in the area, in Hackensack and Backus to pay our respects

As usual my brother in law with his Ural and his dog Sgt. Cooper were a big hit.

Raised a good deal of money for the Minnesota Military appreciation fund and a few other Vet related services.

Everyone returned to the Walker legion safely and we all enjoyed a spaghetti dinner and fellowship and some prizes.

For Once it didn't rain and wasn't unbearably hot or muggy.

Well I guess I got busted this weekend. Yea that's my bike. I'd been looking for a Valk for a while, rode a couple standards and tourers before I jumped on an Interstate and then I knew which one would be right for me. Like Rich stated I found this one in Duluth for a very attractive price. I've been a member on VRCC since before I got the bike and a "looker" before that. I got to say that this web site is invaluable to guys like me who are just getting their feet wet learning about this wonderful machine. This is my first post simply because any questions I've had have been answered by searching past posts. I just don't see any need to ask someone to repeat something that I am too lazy to search for. Any way........I really like this site, the folks that do post regularly here seem like my kind of people, many are a wealth of knowledge concerning the bike, many know as I do that Jesus is Lord, (I love the current post asking if you've experienced a miracle.... people need to have this kind of discussion much more often) and it seems that most folks are around my age. I may not have many posts but I do check this site every day. Oh..... and it was nice to meet you this weekend Rich.

Nice report, thx for posting. Great cause, those rides. Love seeing the Valks (and the Ural) in a sea of mostly HD's...they really do stand out cooldude There's so few Valks up here that a sighting always causes a double take and usually a quick meet & greet.
