What a list!

If you have the time...what a ride(s). Cool

Substitute "Valkeray" and you got a catchy tune.
Perhaps it should be adopted as the "VRCC Anthem". Smiley

My very first car "The Green Turtle"-1953 Chevy, purchased by my dad for $100 from the estate of a family friend.

I should have included this song with the first site that was a compilation of the 50 longest highways in America.

And yes, Dinah Shore was a very pretty lady when I was just a lad, sang beautifully, and joked around on her variety show with her guests.  Simple times, black and white and grey on the TV.  Practically no women had their own shows in the early days of television; she was a big band singer for many years and so she " had her chops" as it was said then.

My intent was to spur on a little discussion about the greatness of our highway system as "this land was made for you and me" in hopes that someone out there has accomplished a trip(s) on any of these roads from start to finish. Smiley

The Dinah Shore thing was just a pleasant afterthought to times past when motoring was a step up from the Conestoga Wagon.  The advertising jingle conjured up by General Motors was catchy and all over the airwaves back in the 1950's.  Made you want to travel those highways.  Finally did it as a young man in 1974 from the Atlantic to the Pacific and a new life beginning, but it was the Beach Boys who sealed the deal..."California Girls".

Honda may have sold more Valkyries if they had bought the rights to it and switched the words. ???
Was just goofin' around on a slow day and the imagination took off. laugh
