I just saw a little while ago that his wife Cindy will be resuming his senate sest. Ah I could be wrong but don't you think the citizens of Arizona should have some say in who replaces him?
The governor is the one who will pick his replacement.

Ducey has said nothing on the topic, other than we would not choose himself.  Meanwhile, McCain still hasn't resigned and Arizona is not being represented equally in the senate.  Pretty self-centered of him.

Depending on when McCain finally decides to step down, it may not even be Ducey to decide.  Ducey's opponent in the primary has stated he will not appoint Cindy McCain.  If Ducey makes an appointment before the primary, some pundits think Ducey would get a bump by selecting her.  Personally, I think it would cost him in the primary.  It might give him a bump in the general.
Agreed. It doesn’t look like McCain is going to step down. I think Ducey will be re-elected regardless who he picks.

Probably.  Oh, and for those asking, the governor's appointment has to be the same political party as the person they are replacing.

So a RINO/Democrat?  tickedoff

(I know, I know we keep inexplicably re-electing the RINO Cornyn even here in The Republic. But at least Ted Cruz sort of makes up for that.)

I can't stand McCain as much as the next guy, but that's taking it a bit far!

(And no, Ted Cruz's dad was a VICTIM of communism/socialism, that's how he ended up here.)

...and proud to say I've met both Ted Cruz and his dad... wonderful patriots, they've EARNED their love for America, unlike many who just stumbled onto it.

Haha... I saw that coming.  RINO is not an official party.  Ducey will have to select a republican.

Yeah, just saw he passed away.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that there are a couple people on this board, back in '08, who were saying nasty things about him when he ran against Obama.  I would go as far as saying some of these people were the ones saying that the US was only a heartbeat away from Palin as president, that they were secretly hoping he would die before the election. I bet when Mccain came out against Trump they were immediately convinced he was a patriot, a hero, and one of the greatest people of all time.  Many are stuck in the false mindset of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".

I wound never wish him ill, but I have never been a McCain fan.  It baffles me that he continued to be reelected.

It's pretty hard to beat the machinery of an incumbent. I'm sorry to hear he died. There was a time I really looked up to him.
