Somebody, please put little Johnny on a leash.  Kid just runs away from the adults and into the station.

Damn, that's gotta hurt. Angry

This has been on the local news all day, but I hadn't seen the m/c POV video......

OUCH!!!!!!! He's really lucky to get out with just a broken finger.....I'll bet his bike is tweaked pretty good.

That's terrible.

What chance did the rider have?

Unless going down the road at 20 mph or so.

The juvenile, who is diagnosed with with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism, ran into the Central Fire Dept. garage and got into an ambulance, locking the driver’s side door, starting the vehicle and putting it into drive.

I have no recollection of the incident, but am told I drove our '50 Hudson off a curb and down the street (left me in a running car).  I was standing on the seat in my diaper, so I know nothing of manual or automatic trans, and gas and brake.  My mom saw this and ran after the basically idling car, but I ran into a tree (and smacked the windshield) before she caught up.  She said I was white faced and a bit scared, but since I only hit my head, I was otherwise fine.

I wasn't allowed to drive for many years after that.   Grin

Something like this.  (what a tank)

Who watched the 2nd video, the building surveillance camera?

4 guys end up running from the building, and not one of them actually goes up to the MC rider, who is running around and going up and down like a jack-in-the-box.

The kids mom was having trouble with him, so she called the police. They put him in the cruiser and drove him to the fire station where there were EMT's on duty. The kid got out of the cruiser and ran right to the ambulance....

The rest you know....

The cycle had a digital speedometer that was reading 52 MPH when he was rolling down the road, 46 MPH when he started emergency braking at what looked like 40-50 ft. or so from impact, and when he had gotten it down to 0 where you can hear skidding noises.  I think that the guy did a good job of minimizing his crash.  Those ambulances are built stout and don't give like an automobile does.
He was geared up and helmet on.
The local news station's coverage showed the firefighter trying to hold onto the rescue truck, then falling off and narrowly avoiding being hit by the cycle.
All in all, nobody died, the rescue vehicle got hauled out of the woods, the bike got taken away, and three people went to the hospital with minor injuries for such a dramatic accident.

Yeah, I don't think he fell off, looked to me like he bailed to avoid the headlight bearing down on him. Caint say as I blame him! Good situational awareness under pressure IMHO, 2¢ worth cooldude

looked to me that his speedometer was reading 0 about 10 feet before hitting the ambulance. which means to me he had the front wheel locked up as well as the rear.
