IMHO they know their target market very well...
Has anyone here purchased a Nike anything in the last decade? I know I haven't.... But definitely won't now that they're endorsing using Old Glory as toilet paper...
But IMHO their target market is urban youth who will be totally supportive of this move, not middle aged or older America loving patriotic motorcycle riders....

I've purchased 2 or 3 pair of Nike in the last few years. Wish I'd paid more attention to when I got my last pair, since it was my LAST pair.

Suggestion to upgrade their flag-burning ad-campaign: Totally agreed with you Serk! A true hero for sure!! And someone explain to me how kaper dick "sacrificed everything"? Besides a failing sports career. I can't be positive but I'd bet nike paid this kaperd!ckhead a handsome sum for the add! I don't buy shoes or clothes that often and I'm not "brand specific" but the next time I do I will make sure it's not nike affiliated!!

Suggestion to upgrade their flag-burning ad-campaign: Kaepernick sacrificed his career to prove a point for what? This man, Pat Tillman gave up a promising football career to fight and die for the flag that Kaepernick desigrated. He gave the ultimate sacrifice. HIS LIFE.......Thank you Pat Tillman. Go to hell Colon Kaepernick and take Nike with you.

I am staying away from ANYTHING remotely connected to the notferlongs. I USED to be a staunch chi town bears fan. USED to be. Far as kaperwhatthe heck ever- And unless and until the folks in charge of these overpaid cry babies git this chit straightened out I will NOT support them in the least. Pat Tillman gave ALL for Our Country. Will NOT put that other turds mention with the HERO we lost. The notferlongs could go outa business tomorrow and I could care less. RIDE SAFE. And B T W-screw nike.

Sucks for me!
Been a Nike fan for the last 10 years because I can design my own shoes. Sneakers in size 12 all look like clown shoes in the stores. The white shoes look gigantic and all the silly colors and bubbles in the heels are hideous to me.
USED to go on NikeID and design my own shoe from the laces, to the swoop, to the heel, to saying G-MAN somewhere on every pair I design.
I hope I can find another company I can work with.

I’ll be keeping a close watch on Nike stocks today. New Balance is better anyway New Balance still has some models made in the USA. In the 90s I also bought Saucony as they were made here. I have never bought any shoe or apparel associated with Nike and just another reason to never start.

Guess time will tell, perhaps the mainstream Nike buyer doesn't get up this early in the day after a 3-day weekend. They opened at $80 and seem to be settled back in at $80. In the long run they may see a huge reward if they become the "Official Shoe of RESIST!!!" Who knows? I'm a white 63 year old that took a knee on the NFL at the start of Game 2 last year when 2 Green Bay clowns took knees and the QB & management stood behind them. Me buying a pair of Nike every year or two when I get a 30% off coupon for Kohl's just might compare to their prime demographic. That said, I don't know what % of other buyers are actually sporting Chinese knock-offs while I actually send Nike money. Time will tell, and in the meantime I'll switch to New Balance, hope they bring back the #1645, mine are rather worn.

That 30% off coupon does not include Nike, Under Armour and a few other name brands. Says right on the coupon.

I think this whole story is quite fascinating. Kaepernick never attacked a golden star family, neither sided with foreign dictators against USA intelligence or attacked the free press. What he did was to kneel while the anthem played (and I recall that the idea of kneeling was suggested to him by a veteran, as that was more respectful than seating in the bench). He didn't burn American flags or showed his ass or anything of the like. Neither he beaten his wife or did drugs. He didn't wave Nazi flags in public or anything alike. And for that he was banned for life from NFL.

“some very fine people,” while expressing sympathy for their demonstration against the removal of a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee.
I was so proud when the actual President of the United States insinuated right on teevee that some of the people (like me) who think the current Confederate statue demolition frenzy in our country is disgraceful aren't dirt bags, but rather tax paying property owning law abiding voters.

He's been offered several opportunities to play for the NFL since he started his little performance, he turned them all down... And... wearing socks with police officers as pigs is another totally classy move he's made... (Wonder if Nike will start making them now?)

As much as it pains me, I must agree with my Obama impeaching, Texas seceding friend. Colin Kapernick had multiple opportunities in the NFL. He rejected them thinking he could get a sweeter deal. He F'd up. He has the right to kneel, now he must live with that stupid decision. That said, if it does come out in this new round of arbitration hearings that NFL owners have conspired to not hire him, he will be paid handsomely for that. I would think their lawyers are smart enough to insulate them from doing something blatant.

Well isn't it the right of the team owners to NOT hire him and the circus that comes with him? After all he is a employee and as a employer they have the right to hire who they want. This is still America. I have not watched a game since other players started following his stupid footsteps and I will continue my boycott. I also have never bought Nike products so I will continue that trend. When the owners and now Nike lose enough revenue from their bad desisions they will likely change their minds. Until then........

correct me if I am wrong, but didn't he kneel to make a point he thinks is true which to me is NOT that Afro-Americans and other minorities are not treated as equals? Has he looked at the NFL skin color much, most Afro-Americans? Does he really believe that blacks vs. whites in the NFL are paid differently and treated differently - he needs to wake the F up!!!!!! He needs to severe ties with all sponsors and the NFL and get a REAL JOB that pays say 17 per hour like a lot of citizens in the USA are getting paid and make a go of it surviving one paycheck at a time.

His and others kneeling has nothing to do with how black people are treated by the NFL. A little research would answer that.
