correct me if I am wrong, but didn't he kneel to make a point he thinks is true which to me is NOT that Afro-Americans and other minorities are not treated as equals?  Has he looked at the NFL skin color much, most Afro-Americans?  Does he really believe that blacks vs. whites in the NFL are paid differently and treated differently - he needs to wake the F up!!!!!!

He needs to severe ties with all sponsors and the NFL and get a REAL JOB that pays say 17 per hour like a lot of citizens in the USA are getting paid and make a go of it surviving one paycheck at a time.  Angry
With his poor work attitude, I don't think he could keep a $17/hour job any more than Al Sharpton could.

I think this whole story is quite fascinating.

Kaepernick never attacked a golden star family, neither sided with foreign dictators against USA intelligence or attacked the free press.

What he did was to kneel while the anthem played (and I recall that the idea of kneeling was suggested to him by a veteran, as that was more respectful than seating in the bench).

He didn't burn American flags or showed his ass or anything of the like.

Neither he beaten his wife or did drugs.

He didn't wave Nazi flags in public or anything alike.

And for that he was banned for life from NFL.

Inaccurate, and beyond pathetic. But that is my fault for letting your posts be visible in my home.

Not a single NFL game will be aired in this household. Both my wife and myself totally agree that the NFL can go straight to Hell until they get their heads out of their collective a$$es and respect the country that gave them these amazing opportunities.
As far as the players that are kneeling go.......
Has anyone seen a single thing they did for their "cause" during off-season? Anything at all??

Nike can kiss my grits as well. None of their shoes fit my feet anyway. Mine are wide working feet unlike the narrow snowflake feet of today.

For all the good it will do-those of us that actually git it still actually git it-had I demonstrated in the work place on company time I KNOW I would have been fired-ON THE SPOT. Had I tried that chit in the U S Navy the best I could have hoped for was one or two weeks restriction to barracks. The Navy and every place I ever drew a check from had RULES and my Employer Expected those RULES to be followed. Don't like the RULES don't hire on there. Did I like All the RULES-hell NO I Did Not-but in order to continue drawing a pay check I followed their RULES. ANY place I worked including the U S Navy had cry babies. The cry babies didn't seem to last long or put forth the effort for the long haul. Pat Tilman personifies the word HERO. I'd git banned if I stated what if anything c k personifies. RIDE SAFE.

Being as you don't watch football, I guess it is to be expected that you don't understand how it works. He had opportunities in the NFL. He opted out of them thinking he would find greener pastures. He was wrong. As to whether owners conspired later to blackball him has yet to be adjudicated. I gave you no permission to do anything. I merely agreed that you should continue with your boycott if that's what you wish.

Levi has been a "Leftist/Progressive" organization for a very long time.   I'm glad they are finally coming out with at least part of their agenda.   Bringing their positions into the light may well determine their future.

Anxious to see if teams ban Nike. Do they have the guts ?

My understanding is that Nike kept CK on contract the past two years paying him the previously agreed upon fees even though they did not use him in their ad campaigns.

Nike and the NFL signed a new eight year contract partnership recently.   They waited to bring CK back until after that contract was signed.     If the NFL were to break ranks with Nike now, breaching that contract would no doubt be very expensive....   So, I guess Nike and the NFL will either go down together or maybe survive.    I know which way I plan to help them go.....

I have never joined in the fray to not buy a product but with Nike that has changed. Its just to egregious a action to not make a statement, even though it may be small. I will also add Levis to the no purchase list.

You do know all this sh i t is just tit-for-tat, right?  The boycott crap is right out of the liberal playbook.  The right used to live by the free market taking care of it, but they saw how effective the democrat/liberal playbook worked on making mountains out of potholes.

Same for the executive orders, 51 votes in the senate, no time read things, etc.  For every "dirty" thing you see the GOP doing, you don't have to look that far into the very recent past to see that they are just going along to move along.

Baldo just curious, Nike did this knowing the dispute that is going on with Colin. To me that is like a finger in the eye of many Americans. Regardless of how you felt about the original issue one way or the other is this a good thing for corp America to do to take a side in an already hot issue?

That means that corps are setting the standard and putting their time and money behind issues, should this really be allowed?

Are you taking a plane ride somewhere?

There is a certain poetic irony in seeing all the Democratic Socialists go from screaming "SNUGGLE CAPITALISM!" last week into buying five pairs of sweat-shop shoes for "social justice" this week...

Point two - are you really trying to put Rino Romney into the "right wing" category?!?!?! He's not remotely right wing, just a Democratic Socialist with money.

Love the clowns trying to make an artificial moral high ground by telling people to send their Nikes "to the poor". The poor has long been shod in expensive Nikes, and if I'm trying to make a statement by not buying a product, I'm sure not going to send it to somebody else to wear as an advertisement for them. I'm bummed that I recently bought 3 pr. of Levis, but eventually they'll need to be replaced (in less time than the 60's & 70's better made ones) and at that time I'll find some Carhartt or Duluth Trading instead, assuming they aren't politically insane at that time.

Speaking for myself on the left, you've got it wrong pardner....I couldn't care less if people want to take a stand over this. Don't want to watch, fine. Don't want to buy, fine, too.

It seems that those that are really the most vocal about this are just spooling themselves up. I haven't seen anything about "driving the left crazy".

You want to get all hyperventilated about it? Have at it. I'll be here watching.

Corporations have always taken sides on issues. We may not see it as obviously as Nike has done in this case. And are you really upset that a corp has done this? I thought that was a tenet of right wing ideology, let the market take care of it?

Remember...

Plane ride?

Letting the market handle this is exactly how it should be handled. And I hope it's handled harshly.

Point two - are you really trying to put Rino Romney into the "right wing" category?!?!?! He's not remotely right wing, just a Democratic Socialist with money.

Well, he did run for President under the "R" flag......so there's that.

He's my Boston Boy.....(even though I was ripshi t when he made that statement)

Well, I never watched foot ball, never cared and thought those who got all involved were odd.
nike, if they were at Ross, good-o. Never bought em at full price, the stores don't carry 14/15.
I cant stand converse, they don't put anything in the foot pad.
Levis, too expensive any way.
I don't play the boycott game.
I just live my way, spend MY money as I see fit and try to make it go as far as I can.
The theatre of it all  entertains me.

Exactly.....

And I love football. I've already got tix for two Pats games.....

Haven't owned a pair of Levi's since high school. They don't fit round shapes very well.

And for that he was banned for life from NFL.

He's been offered several opportunities to play for the NFL since he started his little performance, he turned them all down...

And... wearing socks with police officers as pigs is another totally classy move he's made...

(Wonder if Nike will start making them now?)

As much as it pains me, I must agree with my Obama impeaching, Texas seceding friend. Colin Kapernick had multiple opportunities in the NFL. He rejected them thinking he could get a sweeter deal. He F'd up. He has the right to kneel, now he must live with that stupid decision. That said, if it does come out in this new round of arbitration hearings that NFL owners have conspired to not hire him, he will be paid handsomely for that. I would think their lawyers are smart enough to insulate them from doing something blatant.

You say it's his right to kneel?  Well isn't it the right of the team owners to NOT hire him and the circus that comes with him? After all he is a employee and as a employer they have the right to hire who they want. This is still America.

I have not watched a game since other players started following his stupid footsteps and I will continue my boycott. I also have never bought Nike products so I will continue that trend. When the owners and now Nike lose enough revenue from their bad desisions they will likely change their minds. Until then........
It is an owners right to hire who they wish. But if owners conspired together to keep him out they would be in legal jeopardy. Continue your boycott by all means.

You just said he had multiple offers to play. He rejected them for a better deal. Your words. I'm not a lawyer (and neither are you) but I think that any conspiracy charge would be null and void since he had offers and turned them down. He had a opportunity to play and he refused.  He F-uped......

Thanks for giving me your permission to continue my boycott. I sure wouldn't want to continue without it. cooldude

I did watch. Almost every sunday. Colts fan.  So when a few Colts took a knee I decided I was done.  I don't give two chits about Kaeprenick. Do you actually believe that every team owner conspired to keep him unenployed?

My father and my older brother served under that flag so when I see some over payed, glory seeking moron kneel before said flag for some perceived social injustice that has nothing to do with the flag it makes me angry. It should make EVERY veteran angry. But I guess some think they are above such trivial things.....

As a veteran, I dont let this get to me. My parents raised me to respect the flag and those brave brothers and sisters of mine who wear the uniform. The military tought me to respect the oath to support and defend the Constitutuion. You and I dont have to agree with CK's actions, but I do respect his right to protest peacefully.

And thanks to our free market system, it's our freedom to turn our backs on any entity that supports his message. If the passion and anger towards this controversy was calmed down some (no thanks to the media) I feel this unfortunate situation would have died shortly after it began.

I dont feel NFL teams conspired not to hire CK. I look at it as I do with Tim Tebow. No NFL team wants the media publicity in the locker room when it comes to chit like this. It was unfortunate in a star role model player like Tebow that his strong religious views brought so much scrutiny from outside sources. Regardless, in CK's case, I'd rather see him on ads of a product I won't buy than see his kneeling ass in front of the flag on every news station for a week.
