Honda 150 Dream. I think it was a 1965. I didn't do any building on it. I just rode it and rode it until I blew a cylinder.

Did you burn your lips? Sorry, couldn't resist. I was essentially separated at the time of the blow but it was more painful than you might imagine.

Yamaha 60 in '69. I souped it up. Ported the intake port so it would rev more - then was constantly destroying the fiber intake "rotary valve" disc with extreme RPMs. Used it as a dirt scrambler. And all my other transportation. Used it as a snowmobile. Didn't say I was smart. Just too poor to afford other wheels. This was my 2nd ride. And the bike is a 450 Ducati "Scrambler" - thumper.

I think I've shared this before. My first motorcycle was a Valkyrie. Never had the desire to ride before that. Before the first Michigan my brother-in-law Frosty (another Valkyrie rider) told Barb and I that he was coming for a visit and he was bringing 2 motorcycles. We asked why 2 and he said 1 for him and 1 for me so we could ride to Inzane together. I didn't even have my endorsement. So I went to a class and got it. I still didn't ride with him because I was a new rider. I and Barb took our car and followed him to Inzane. On the way we stopped in Green Bay and bought a 97 Red & White. Could not take it either because it had to be released from his bank. The day after we got back from Inzane Frosty and Barb drove to Green Bay and picked up the bike. I was working. That was a Monday. On Tuesday right after work I jumped on and rode. Thursday, I told Barb she was going. She said are you sure you are ready? I said we bought the bike to ride and ride we are going to do, get on. And we never looked back. That was what 9 years ago, seems just like yesterday.

1989 Honda gb500. My biggest regret is selling it. I never did ever take a picture of it, this one is from Wiki. Me being old school I think that is one fine looking bike. I don't remember that model but bet it was a great bike in its time

Black Honda S90 like the photo earlier in this thread.
Mine had a FULL fiberglass dustbin fairing.
How it hauled me and the fairing around is a testament to it's sheer doggedness.
Honda Benly CS90 90cc, single cylinder, chain drive. Mine had a full fairing on which was very handy for riding to my first job at age 16. Worked for a local newsagent, had to be at work at 5.30am rain, snow or shine. This machine was used and abused. I learned a lot about engine maintenance!!!

I don't remember that model but bet it was a great bike in its time It was a great little bike. Very few were imported, though. It's a cult classic at this time. Quite nimble, but not very fast. I think 30hp at the most. Many parts that only appeared on this model made it pricey (I think $3999 at the time) compared to other bikes. And it was only a 500cc single with a solo seat. No provision for mounting passenger pegs. Had kick and electric start. Maybe I'm biased, but I feel it is the most beautiful bike of all time. Well, maybe in the top 5.

1st bike I owned was in 2007.....1976 Elsinore 250. It was restored by a buddy of mine so it looked and ran excellent. Funny, I have no picture of it......not that I could find anyway, so this stock photo will have to do.

My first was a 650 BSA like the one below. I'm not sure if it was the lightning or the thunderbolt like pictured. It was not even close to being that clean however, I only rode it for about 1,000 miles before it blew up. I brought the motor in to a biker type Harley shop to be rebuilt, they closed up and took the motor with them. Jim

Triumph Bonneville. Dad bought it for me when I was 16. Was rebuilt from a couple of wrecked bikes. Loved that bike...

First real MC was a 1968 Honda SS125A Twin, got it 1974 and rode the crap out of it. Had many small bikes before that from mini to 60cc and 80cc stripped down street bikes that we rode on the ditch banks.

after several home made mini bikes, my first real bike was a Honda 450 CL. road that from northern Ill to New Orleans, to California, up the coast and back home. moved to Denver the next year, bought a Honda CB 750 had that for several years and many mountain rides with a family club, then i got a BMW R75, that sold me on shaft drives, bought a new Susuki 850L, had that through 2 wives and 2 divorces, moved back to Ill. started riding with some guys that all had HDs so the 850 was sold for a (stayed with Honda) VTX1300, witch I road with 3 friends to Stirgis saw my first Valkyrie there, when I got home I went looking and found a 1998 Valkyrie 1500 STD, had that for 2 years along with the 1300. But then at the bike show I saw Honda was bringing back the Valk with the 1832 motor. As soon as the weather was good went and test road one, OMG had to have one, sold the Valkyrie to one of those HD riders traded in the 1300 and got my 2014 Valkyrie, fantastic bike, but missed not having 2 bikes, could not afford to and another 1500, but found a 1975 original GL1000 Red, like the one pictured earlier, bought it for $1000.00, and after carb work and some o ring seals and a battery I now own 2 of the best bikes ever built, and will never need another bike. That is my story and 49 years of riding so far and almost 300,000 miles, and a recent trip to Glacier National Park, I am looking forward to more years of riding, the GL is my day bike for short rides and to show off at the local bars, and the Valkyrie is my cruiser. keep riding safe to all

My 1967 Bridgestone, $599 from JC Penny's. I was 14 at the time and I had a lead on a 305 Superhawk but Daddy thought I would get hurt on it. My helmet is a DOT approved helmet and my sisters helmet is a DOD approved helmet, kinda. It was my Dad's WWII helmet liner he brought back after the war. Safety was not foremost in our minds back in the day. For those who may be fashion-challenged, those are indeed high-water pants with tassel loafers and no sox. Stylin and profilin!!

First road bike was an Ariel Arrow 250 2stroke. Learned to cover the clutch at all times as this little bugger would seize at will!

After a few different minibikes, if I remember correctly, my first real bike was a 72 Yamaha DT125. I rode the wheels off that during my early high school years. It was followed by a Bultaco Alpina, a Rokon trail bike (2 wheel drive), and I believe a Honda CB360..... My brother got out of the Air Force in 79 I believe, bought and rode a brand new Kawi KZ900 from California home to New England. He got off at home and said he didn't want to see it again, for awhile at least...lol... I knew where he put the key...

First bike was a Honda Shadow 600. I was told that a first bike should always be something smaller... nonsense! I'm 6ft2 and 180lbs, any smaller bike felt way too under powered for the task. Got it with 11K miles and sold it with profit with 17K miles 4 years later (who says adding accessories is money wasted?). It was a nice and faithful 'little' bike.

I still have it but it would need alot of rehab. Always wanted a 250 to make a pair.

Honda CB200. mine had a padded sissy bar though. Rode it with a with 3/4 helmet and a non-moving bubble type face shield. sold it to a 'friend' who promptly parked it outside and let the seat rot and the chrome rust.
