if anyone is interested

Thank you to Serk for attempting to get a route planner to work on all these roads

Main purpose is to lock down the mileage between points so as to make sure bathroom/gas and lunch stop are  reasonable and check condition of all roads

PLEASE have full tank when you get to my house as there will be no gas stop for about 90 miles or more depending on whether I detour us up to the top of Perkins at 930am as if no fog you can see NYC skyline from as far as it is possible .  This ride will NOT cover Fort Montgomery or the Cliff Road above West Point but if anyone is here Sunday wanting to ride some more I may run up there just because.

Kickstands up is 9 sharp on the day of the big ride.

If anyone wants to come along just reply on this thread.

Lunch looks to be at the Phoenicia diner on NY 28 around 1pm in the heart of the Catskill Mountains (north of Slide Mountain)

I would love to go for the ride I will have to see how my schedule looks I will know better in a few days.  I'm running out of boating weekends and this weekend seems to be a bust so I suspect my wife won't be thrilled with my leaving for the day but I will say as we get closer.

Going to have to adjust the ride

Even if we left here at 8am I dont think it is possible to make it to Hawks Nest then up 42 all the way thru Clarytown and get to lunch before 2 pm

Good news the Diner was great, all roads are open and pavement is in terrific shape

Back to the drawing board   Angry

Yes it includes stops. I have to play with the Rever App. I think there is a way to input wayleaves so that doesn't occur. It's a new App to me ...

Same, we'll miss you and Brenda. On a positive note, Inzane next year is in Taos I heard today. That is your neck of the woods.  Oss rides 11 hour days, so I may show up two days later. Lol. Ya never know.

Figured out the ride corrections

We will have a stop at the top of Perkins
A stop on top of Shawangunk ridge
A stop by the covered bridge on 55 or off of Hunter Rd depending..
Lunch stop at Phoenicia Diner  app 135 miles total
I think everyone should be able to get 135 miles at the speeds we will be going but I can stop for gas in Walden NY or Ellenville

Return via 28East over 199 (possible gas stop) the Rhinebeck bridge across the Hudson down 9G to Slate Quarry Rd to the Taconic to 301 thru Fahnstock park to Cold Spring and down 9D to the goat trail and then 9 to the Croton Dam and home

Who has a cb besides me to ride sweep?

This is turning into another epic ride thru many elevations and should catch foliage in many different peaks.  Hope to see lots of great riding reports and pics (hint hint)
app 120 -130 home

Dinner at the Portugese Restaurant We will need a head count a week ahead for that.

I've invited my friends OSS. I'll try to give you a count before the ride, but the last time I invited my 'friends' 12 bikes showed up. I'll let you know before the ride on 10/13.

sorry to disagree Harry but according to my recollection,

all of your friends bailed and you were the only rider from Dutchess county the last two times (3 if you count the scouting ride) I put on the Catskill ride

Been thinking that because of all the rain these last few months the colors in mid October should be the best in many years and we should have less early leaves on the road because the trees are so healthy and strong.
