Be vigilant. Do not forget.  There is great evil in the world that wants us gone.

I can't forget that morning, but there are times I wish I could.

I wish it never happened and people are still dying from the disaster that day and months following.

I wish it never happened because it unleashed a firestorm of resent against immigrants here trying to forge a new life in this country.

Growing up I learned about the issues my grandparents had being Italian and later from my in-laws about their Irish parents. My wife and I are both 2nd generation Americans so the backlash against middle easterner's hit a little close to home. These were things this country didn't need, just like the Asian internment camps post Pearl Harbor.

Thousands of innocent people died for nothing that day and their families will have an emptiness forever.

May they all rest in peace and may peace and comfort come to their families.

I still have that patch as well. I also still have my VRCC 911 T-shirt, both courtesy of CAT Specialties back in the day.  cooldude

I Remember EXACTLY Where I first heard the news. I got back home-I was just in town getting supplies for the road-to see both towers fall and the reports of the other atrocities transpiring that awful day. I have a 9/11 Memorial patch on my leather jacket that will NEVER be removed as long as I'm alive. I'm in agreement with others here-9/11 should never have happened. ALL the planners and enablers of 9/11 will eventually be made to pay but it may Not be in our or their lifetime. RIDE SAFE.

We say we'll not forget and yet we are bringing in thousands and thousands of the same ilk, people with like or the same mindset as those who killed our own.  It does us little good to remember of it doesn't cause us to learn.

I've no problem with immigrants who come to become Americans.  Many, however, come refusing to assimilate.

Thanks for jogging my memory, I couldn't remember who made 'em other than it was a VRCC connection. I think someone in TX did the legwork? They needed a minimum to get the run and I remember thinking "that won't be hard" as I ordered a half dozen or so. The one on my leather isn't so pretty and shiny anymore, and I'm OK with that. Strangely, both my 911 tee AND the leather have um, shrunk badly, over the years, but my shoes still fit.

Immigration without assimilation is an invasion.

--Bobby Jindal

I've told the story before, but the full impact of what was happening came to me while I was riding my Valk to work that day. I listed to AM news radio for traffic reports, and as it became clear this was no accident I found myself stopping and yelling at the other drivers to turn on the news, we were under attack.

A few actually did...

A brief reminder, from back when CNN and the NYT were actual news organizations:

I truly will never forget what I was doing that day.

I was working my "other" job when a buddy that was working his shift on the Fire Department called me and told me to find a TV and turn it on. When I asked him why he said a plane just hit the WTC. As we were speaking he said "Oh Crap! Another one just hit it!" He is a prankster and I told him to shut up and let me get back to work. He said I AM TELLING YOU, GO FIND A TV RIGHT NOW! Something in his voice told me it wasn't another one of his jokes and for the next hour we were pretty much glued to the TV screen. When the first tower fell I was later told that I said "a bunch of our guys just got killed".

Then came Washington and PA, it seems silly now but at that point pretty much anything seemed possible and we had no idea what was going to happen next. Rumors were rampant and the media was (rightfully so) going crazy. Our boss let us go if we wanted to leave and I hightailed it to the fire station after telling my wife that I wanted her home and to pick up our daughter from school and get her home also. I wanted everyone where I knew where they were.

Somehow we heard a rumor that Chicago was going to be attacked next. That is about 70 miles from us and we packed our Rescue truck with our gear and a few days worth of supplies and waited. Six of us agreed that if anything happened in Chicago we were going, the hell with the consequences from our local government.  Fortunately that never happened, presumably the folks in PA had made sure that wouldn't happen.

Nope, I will never forget.

President Trump has been trying to do since he took office but the left won't have any of it. I hear and read all the time how some of these Muslim immigrants,(notice I said some) want to make America bow to their laws and beliefs. They want to make America like the country they are fleeing. No way. If they can't abide by our laws they can go back where they came from......

Came outside from my workplace at 811 Vermont Ave..... and there was the smoke from the Pentagon.

We didn't know it was the Pentagon at the time.  Too fresh to be news yet.

The Fed sent everyone home. Guess what?  Everyone can not get home (at the same time).  Should have gone back in and finished the day, instead of trying to get out of DC for the next 3-4 hours.

Lets have common sense immigration.  NOT PC immigration (which is as far from common sense as you can get).
