I know this bike has no bags but I just can't help myself when I'm going to pick up just a few items.  The few tends to alter itself inside the store.  A little cat litter, bandages, triple anit-biotic ointment, a few shakes.  Thank goodness for bungee cords.

An older lady (older than I) commented in the parking lot on what a pretty bike I have.  I just can't take this thing anywhere without drawing attention.  It's not a complaint; just an observation.

Git some saddle bags like they used on horses or still use fer that matter. Thay way when you do go shopping with that good lookin yellow scooter you just need to throw them over the fender-after getting the lengths correct or git a back pack. RIDE SAFE.

Awesome machine!

I wear a back pack when riding my machines without bags; just like the cool kids running the cafe racers.

Lightweight nylon backpack.  And you use it as a shopping cart in the store; once full, you're done shopping.  (I sure wouldn't bungee anything on that fancy paint)

At age 17, I almost wrecked my BSA Lightning trying to save a 6 pack sliding off the seat between my legs.

As the legal age was 21, six packs were not that easy to come by.

In seriousness, while loading a small backpack in a store might get you adverse attention, most stores will not detain for shoplifting until you leave the door without paying (not counting grazers eating right off the grocery shelves).  The crime of larceny is complete with an intent to steal and any asportation (movement) of the goods, but conviction rates go way up when they wait for you to walk out the door before detaining you (that's how they nail the intent element).  You load up a small pack (like a big purse) and go straight to checkout, you should be fine (or use one of those little baskets).  Especially us respectable looking old gents (and not kids).

Anyway, the point was to use a backpack, not bungee to the bike.  (I have two little nylon packs that each would carry everything he bungeed, and they will fit in a front pocket, balled up. )

LOL!  Fourteen pounds of cat litter.  I don't think I'd enjoy carrying that in a backpack.

The rear fender has a chromed solo bar.  The load doesn't contact the paint.  In my more careful times and for longer distances I've been known to cover the fender with a cloth (towel) buffer.

Bungees are my friends.

We could get one of those and bring it to next years Inzane as a VRCC fundraiser.

We could sell tickets to watch Willow ride it to Walmart.

It might even come close to making as much $$ as Motomomma's pies do.  Evil

Nor have I.  I didn't buy Ensure but a product that on the outside of the bottle is labeled "Nutritional Shake".   Smiley

Interstingly, Ensure Plus also labels itself as a Nutritional Shake.    Wink

I have no saddle bags and only a small roll bag on the rear of my 2001 Standard. When shopping while riding, I refuse to use a cart or a small carry basket. If I cannot carry it in my arms, I probably cannot safely tote it home.

I find one of those miniature carts is a good size estimator of the capacity of my Tourer (Jade) bags.  If there's any overflow I always have bungies to tie onto the back seat / luggage rack.  Sometimes I deliberately take Jade to prevent me from buying too much!  Now if I'm REALLY shopping, like at Costco, and not using 4Runner I bring the HF cargo trailer. Then I can go nuts!  I'm about to get their good toilet; upgrading the same in one of the baths...

Rode 750 miles yesterday from KY to KS.   As the sun set in the western sky I took my favorite clip on sun glasses off and put them in my vest pocket.   Wouldn’t ya know it, they were no where to be found this morning so off I go to the local Wally World to get another set.   The fat lady was covered with bugs.    Not her best show look.

As I dismounted, an Older couple walked up and said, “Wow, that sure is a pretty motorcycle.”  The lady said she wanted a ride.   Pretty sure she was kidding but I told her that I don’t have a rear seat and i only ride solo.   We talked for a while about the fat lady and all the bugs.   Told them that bugs prove she’s a rider and not a show bike.   Regardless, I left with a smile as I headed for the nearest car wash....   smitten

Nothing put in a shirt pocket (without buttons or zip) will stay in that pocket during a long (or even short) ride.  Even with fairings and shields.

Maybe .45 acp slug would, but unless you're Barney Fife, why have bullets in shirt pockets.   Grin

I suspect that I didn’t get the clip ons into “vest” pocket.   Never lost anything out of my vest pocket before.

Barney and I have a few things in common.   This would not be one of them. 2funny

Hey, that's my old bike that I sold to Hotglue a few years back.  Really!

And that paint job is 11 layers thick.  I know, I know... there's the chrome thingy there but... be careful!  Actually, I used to strap a round luggage bag there... it worked fine even though my cohorts called it a pickle barrel.

BTW... it started life as a maroon/cream Tourer.

Where are the velocity stacks?  Did HG steal them?

It is, ataDude.  It's a good paint job but it is worn through where the seat supports touch.  I do try to be careful.  I wouldn't want to damage that at all.

I don't know about the velocity stacks.  I never saw them on it.  Honestly I would likely take them off.  I have added a few pieces.

Sometime I'd like to know the details of what was done mechanically before.  Perhaps we can communicate personally.

Thanks for noticing and for what a beautiful machine you put together.
