Damn. I am in Lutrell TN with my wife and her son. We were planing on riding into the Smokie National park to Cherokee and ride the western few miles of the BRP. This sucks. What about Cherahola. We are riding that on Wed.

If you zoom in on Google maps it will show you road closures.
Be wary of gravel wash in the curvy bits anywhere in the area you want to ride.

I'll be in NC in a month or so with a group. I hope everything is cleaned up by then. We don't usually ride the Cherohala and not much on the Parkway. But if they're in bad shape, I figure a lot of the other roads will bad shape also.

For instance mile marker 385 to just before 390.

That section by Asheville is used by locals. I have no idea why there's no color there.

I called the Blue Ridge Parkway visitor center just now. Northeast of Ashville NC is still closed but the southern part to Cherokee is now open...

Just got back from that area on Saturday.
My brother and I went up to Marion VA to run the Back of the Dragon and then over to Sevierville Tennessee to where we rode 129, Tail of the Dragon, the Cherohala Skyway and down thru Gatlinburg and 33 miles into the National Forest to Cherokee NC.
On Saturday I rode 411 down to Rt 129, road over the Dragon, stopped at the little Dragon stop there and then rode Moonshiners 28 all the way down into Whalhalla SC. Stopped for lunch and rode it all the back into Augusta, GA.
Beautiful roads, beautiful weather, amazing week in the mountains !

I drove 28 all the way to the end once... I was surprised that it was still 28 across state lines. In Augusta 28 goes right past the big green gates of a large walled area that I assume is the golf course... -Mike

my wife myself and stepson are in Lutrell TN visiting relatives. My step Son Anthony and I will be on the cherahola and deals gap tomorrow. My wife does not want to ride with me on the Dragon. Friday I think we will be doing the smoky mountains national park and a small part of the BRP....
