We were supposed to be at my nephew's wedding in Wilmington, NC, this weekend...
I think Joe and his crew are there instead ...

wow, shocking photos especially the ones from satellite far away.

wife yelled at me tonight for going thru 6 inches of standing water on the road from our yet again heavy 4 inches of rain we got yet again.   she was in passenger seat yelling at me since you never really know even with 6 inches of water going over road say 20-30 feet long if the road is washed out underneath.  The other road was closed I wanted to go on back home right before dark having to take a detour had 2 feet of water some 100 yards long going over it that was a no brainer not going thru that.

this summer surely has been a wet one more so than any year the past 48 I have seen.

darn mosquitoes are HORRIBLE not even tolerable to go outside and do any yard work or even sit outside  the past month or so get eaten alive literally.   Garden picking is hardly worth it but still gotta mow the darn yard all to frequently.

My prayers that everyone came through Florence OK.
My 'turn in the barrel' was Katrina in 2005.
14-feet of muddy salt water in the yard.
Wrecked pretty much all my stuff..... but the KIDS were OK.... that's what kept me going.
When it 'gets down to brass tacks', Stuff is just....stuff. People's lives are vastly more important.
