The question I have is why are all the office windows covered up it looks more like a strip club?

Are you right near Yankee stadium?

The windows are actually LEXAN  which is 4X stronger than plexiglass

NYC covered the graffiti for free and made them a color that matches the building

Plenty of light still comes through for the plants in the waiting room.

Oss

the story of the man who tried to throw a typewriter thru the lexan

the machine bounced off the lexan which has give, hit him on the head, knocked his ass out cold, then the neighborhood people robbed him for good measure because he was scum.

The caretaker of the church next door related the story to me which was confirmed by another neighbor

Dont f around in Mr Rogers neighborhood   cooldude

and meat, you dont do certain things where you eat.....

DG McLean Ave in Yonkers becomes Nereid Ave in the Bronx  That Walgreen is on the corner of White Plains Rd and Nereid so I am 7 blocks from Yonkers as you cross the Bronx River and about 10 blocks from Mt Vernon NY  I can get home in under 30 minutes if not rush hour

Your offices bring back memories Evan.

I worked out of various storefronts, in five counties, with a chain firm in 1982, and when that went belly-up, a buddy and I rented another nice storefront in a small colonial professional building, did our own carpentry to make two offices and a waiting area, and a nice sign out front, and went to work (more part time than full time, unfortunately).

Privacy and security are a good reason for blocked windows.  We just hung big mini blinds.

We put a (real) bell on the door to let us know if someone came in (most days, it never rang).  After a few nervous encounters with the wandering public, we went out and got one of those big convex glass mirrors and hung it so we could see the front door from our desks.  Later that year, when someone left a death threat on my machine (we could not afford a secretary, and did our own typing on an IMB Selectric typewriter), I kept a 1911 in my desk (when I was there).

I can still look at my lifetime earnings record from Social Security (came every year, until retirement), and see that in 1983, I made about $5000 for the year.  And more than half of that was court assignments for indigent delinquents, drunks and thieves (the rest was mostly domestic relations).  As I recall, the District courts paid about $200 for a plea, and $250 for a trial (yes, $50 to actually try a case - LOL).

It was a very interesting year.... that convinced me I never wanted to be in business for myself again.  Of course one year is not long enough to establish a going practice, but the tomato soup and half a sandwich for lunch was getting old.  Next stop, US Air Force with a big pay increase to about $18K.   Smiley

(It wasn't ever about the money, but having enough to survive and eat regularly was always nice)

I have an old B & W local newspaper clipping of Greg (my partner) and I standing outside our new storefront in jacket and ties, with big smiles (the only free advertising we ever got).

When I saw that picture I actually thought they finally found your address so the "short bus" could pick you up.

Doesn't that depend upon the direction of the slope of the parking space?

With this post, You will never gain a seat on the Supreme Court for sure, my friend!
What else did you get up to in High School to preclude your nomination? Is there any dirt in your yearbook like Kavenaugh’s puke and fart talk?
“Blazing Saddles” has fart references and May be just a wee bit little racist  Evil

Saturday.  There's a gun shop in Mount Vernon, about a half mile up the road.  Picked up a Mossberg 590 12 gauge, for home protection of course.
