for me to stay away from this board. I lurk occasionally and noted the rational discussion on the part of all about the DC shenanigans.

Briefly, although my knees are cracklin' and were hurting bad this summer, with cortisone shots, the hurt has largely left but the cracklin' goes on. Most of the time, I don't feel my age
Drove the Miata very little this summer, wasn't motivated and didn't 'feel right'

Ride Safe as Dennis would say.

Everybody has their own course. Around 3-4 years ago I simply blocked the 3-4 most batshirt members here, yet still ended up walking away without a word. No drama queen stuff, I just deleted the link from my favorites and only came to the board if a member, customer, or potential one sent me a link with someone asking a question they knew I could answer or pointed out another statement/answer that was 180° off base.
Around a year ago I decided to stop in more, and I left the blocked ones in the cornfield. Seems to be working so far.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Didn't ride much this yr myself. Got the bike out in april and only put 350 miles on it before our big 4200 mile trip in july. in 30 days she goes in the corner. I may get 100 miles in this month. I got a lot to do before winter.

Wayne,

Thanks for checking in! Always good to hear from you, and the updates are appreciated... Like you, I've found it impossible to stay away from this 'family forum'... Like the dinner table at grandma's house, it's where we all gather together for... chatting, catching up, exchanging ideas, bickering, all that normal familial jazz!

Also, like grandma's house, it's where we maintain our trans-generational contacts, and legacy information is passed down from the elders to the kids... You've earned a place at the table through many decades of various types of service, and through vast amounts of experience. It's always good to hear what you have to say... to have you add perspective and depth to the matters with which the rest of us grapple... Thanks...

I want to make sure that members know that I lurk here to check out my friends. I didn't leave because of disagreement.  I just realize that I'll never share a common interest, riding. again.

That would leave me with politics, guns, and religion.  Not a good basis for continued decent discourse on this forum, IMO. Smiley

Thank you Bruce for your kind reply.

There's a difference between disagreeing on politics and simply striving to be a dick at all opportunities. That's why you would be fine in any community, and some others will not be missed.
